3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Amber to gold with white head. Light and fruity beer, a touch sweet, hints of apricot and wild raspberry. Leafy, dry hopped flavours. The fruity sweetness persists and still gives a long finish. Decent.

Not sure where the 'red' is supposed to be. Or where the hops have gone. Probably The use Of Everards brewery for this collaboration has resulted in a generic 'blandering'. Ultimately this is a flowery golden ale with a rather odd perfume and, as one person mentioned, 'chewed pencil' taste. But not in a bad way.

Cask at the Gig House (JDW), Wokingham. Amber gold with a dense cream head; aroma of summer berries; smooth grainy body, with a flavour of jammy fruit and scones; then a lightly bitter biscuity finish. Satisfying.

Slight fruitiness in nose and taste, but the dominant character is bitterness.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask @ The Metropolitan JDW, London. Served in plastic glass because of football match. Hazy amber copper colour, decent head. Mild fruity malt aroma & flavour. Quite smooth. Not really a golden ale. More a cross between a bitter & pale ale.

Cask handpull, The Baron, 12/04/12. Clear orange-gold, good lacing white foam. Decent, piney, grassy, resiny aroma. Odd, flowery, chewed pencil taste I rather like. Some lemon and a twang of sourness; earth, grass. Those pencils in the finish; a crumb of cashew. Went down very easily (sorry).
