Cask at Stockbridge Tap. Pours deep brown. Lovely creamy tan head. Big cherry and malts aroma. Pretty full on cherry flavours. Strangely I quite like this though. Works well with the malty backbone. Creamy and pudding like, though not that sweet. Certainly a novelty beer and a bit weird. That said, Iím enjoying it.

Cask at the Cambridge Blue. Reddish brown, clear, really flat. Cherry aroma with a hint of chocolate malt. A little bit of plastic. Sweet taste with a surprisingly astringent artificial finish. Watery body. Meh.

Tastes almost exactly like blackforest gateaux - cherries, dark chocolate. A bit synthetic tasting. Cloying sweetness quickly gives way to a strange unmalty bitterness. Bizarre

Cask at the Claret. It pours clear deep brown with a small, bubbly beige head. The nose is soft, sweet cherry, perfumed, cherry drops, slightly artificial and tangy boiled sweets. The taste is bitter, earthy, mild astringency, cherry skin, cherry drops, woody, light spice, slightly medicinal notes. Finish is earthy and dry. Medium body and soft carbonation. Quite a disconnect between aroma and taste. The former sweet, the latter bitter. Better than expected, but not overly drinkable.

Cask at Ye Olde Bull & Bush, Stoke. Pours black red brown with a light tan head. Sweet cherry, smooth porter, creamy, did I say smooth. Cherry a tad artificial sweet but good nonetheless.

Gravity cask at the Birmingham CAMRA Beer Festival 2015. Poured a clear dark brown with a bubbly round off white head. The aroma is big cherry, light sweet roasted malt. The flavour is light sour with some sweet malt, crisp cherry yeast notes on the palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Drawn from the barrel at the Sir John as one of their festival specials. A seasonal ale that pour reddish brown with very little head if any. Vanilla and almond overpower cherry in the scent. But they are there in the taste which is very sweet initially with thankfully a bitter background. A watery palate. Personally this is the runt of the litter that spawned the vanilla stout. I simply cannot imagine an evening drinking this. But that is what seasonal special beer is for. To stretch rather than affirm the taste buds.

Cask (Tram Depot, Cambridge)
Dark mahogany, maybe even dark cherry, colour. Very interesting aroma - a nice dark beer, and cherry is subtle. Full in the mouth, some of which is just from sweetness, but itís not as sweet as I would have expected - more cherry stones than cherry. Bitterness on the roof of the mouth in particular is quite lingering. This is a nice twist and is well executed. Finish is very dry, but thatís balanced by the nice sweet body. That makes it moreish.

UPDATED: JUL 22, 2015 Cask at The Roebuck, Leek (Titanic) An opaque ruby amber colour with a thin off white head. Lovely aroma of dark cherries, almond, vanilla and maltloaf. Taste is malty of rich cherries, roasted nuts and a hint of spice. Medium bodied and a smooth texture. A juicy cherry finish. A really nice, flavourful fruit beer. Can drink pints of this.
