COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask. Brewed using Roast Barley and Maris Otter Pale Malt which give a huge amount of rich body to the beer and a generous amount of English North down hops to create a bitter edge, the sweetness comes from the addition of Chocolate and Madagascan Vanilla

Cask at the Wellington, Birmingham. Tar black with a ring of cream head; vanilla aroma; flavour starts with sweet vanilla but then develops a big hot of chocolate malts with lingering tobacco and smoke overtones; the finish has more vanilla and chocolate over some strong leafy hops, leaving a rasping ending. I’m not sure I’d have more than one of these.

Cask; black, thin bubbly head; thick milk chocolate aroma - like cooking chocolate; tastes of two scoops of chocolate and vanilla ice cream that have been left alone in the sun to melt into one another; slight roasted character; an ok novelty half, but it’s not something I’d readily go for again.

Bottle. Creamy lightbrown good mostly lasting head. Black colour. Heavy malty and light hoppy aroma. Storng chocolate notes. Light sweeet and bitter chocolate flavor. Average light bitter finish. Watery palate. Totally unharmonic beer.

Cask at Bow. Black pour, frothy off-beige head. Rich chocolate milk, soft vanilla, touch of treacly marmite too. Slight sweet front, smooth roasty coffee followed by a big but still quite balanced roasty bitterness. Could do with more vanilla character, but overall very nice.

Appearance of black coffee. Has a pleasant, warming vanilla aroma. Flavour is quite stale. The choc/cocoa and roasted malt bitterness is there but doesn’t go so well with the vanilla which is maybe a bit overpowering.

Pours dark brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, cacao, chocolate and vanilla. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter. Body is light to medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.
