COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Seasonal - May.
The ships compass has long been an essential item for any voyage. Light in colour but not in depth this intense combination of maris otter malt and the worlds finest hops leads the palate in every direction, sweet and bitter, warming yet refreshing. The world in a glass.

Cask Stillage at the Metropolitan Cathedral Crypt, Liverpool 20/02/2010 Fruity aroma. Golden amber coloured hoppy floral and a little sweet on the palate with a hint of dryness in a bitter and slightly creamy finish.

Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 03/03/10. Amber in colour with next to no head. Sweetish aroma of caramel and fruit, with a touch of leafy hop. Flavours of marmalade and barley sugar, with a short bitter finish. A bit too sweet for me.

Amber to copper pint with thin creamy white-grey head. Aroma is flowery hops and malts. Flavour is malty and earthy then a quite abrasively dry floral hops. Decent enough but slightly spoilt by a metallic aftertaste.

Cask conditioned at The Royal Blenheim, Oxford. Amber to gold with white head. Fairly standard bitter, a little sharp with a slightly metallic flowery note. Bitter dry finish, it’s ok.

UPDATED: AUG 2, 2004 A good beer, with good hop flavours. Not hugely remarkable but a pleasant session beer worthy of your attention.
