Tasted this in the Last Post, Paisley (JDW) on the 14th January 2016. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear dark ruby in colour with a thin creamy buff head. Roast malt grains are evident in the short slightly sweet malty aroma. Thin but creamy mouthfeel and good lacing. Mixed malts deliver a fruitloaf base with syrupy dates and sweet raisins. Nice earthy flavour to the resiny hop prickle with peppery notes as well. Finish is malty with roast malt grain to the fore along with prunes and dry oak cask flavours full in the mouth. I would certainly call this an Old Ale on the taste though and it would make an excellent session ale..

Hippoman (646) - Durham, ENGLAND - DEC 24, 2015
Cask at The Water House (JDW), Durham. This is a mid-amber beer with a thin, off-white head. The aroma has plenty going on including grass, floral, herbal and syrup touches. The taste is super sweet and syrupy with a spicy, herbal hit and fruity esters reminiscent of a wheat beer. Nothing to write home about.

Cask at the Hounslow JDW, brown with a lasting white head and a faintly woody and spiced malt nose. Bitter-sweet and earthy-dry, with grassy and herbal hops and a hint of spiced orange juice.

Cask at JDW WIQ, London. It pours a clean golden color with small white head. Aroma is crispy grainy and lightly citrousy. Some grains and starch, but mostly citrus peel in the aroma. Light bodied with ok carbonation. Overall, ok
