Commercial Description:
Cask: Seasonal - Spring.
Built in the golden age of the early twentieth century, the Titanic embodied the optimism of a whole nation. This golden well-hopped beer embodies the opulence of those times. Let the flavour take you to a new Golden Age.

(Cask at Angleterre, Helsinki, on 2009-06-16) Golden and almost clear. Medium sized, dense and long lasting white head. Malts and fruitiness in aroma. Medium bodied and dry palate with low carbonation. Malts, fruitiness, grass, bitterness and yeast in taste. Fruity and bitter aftertaste.

Light orange, large spongy head. Honey and pungent hop aroma. Fairly full body for a golden. Some back of the mouth resiny dark bitterness. The finish is basically that bitterness - it’s grapefruit but with no sweetness at all. Palate was soft, carbonation low but not flat. Not aromatic enough to really hit the ’gold’ spot for me, but way better than the bland sweet nonsense that goes under that moniker.

Golden Age is back. Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 16/05/09. Aroma of grassy hops with some malt sweetness. Flavour began with a touch of caramel, before some floral and spicy hops and a moderately bitter finish. Good.

Cask Handpump at the Beer House, Manchester 19/06/2001 Gassy aroma initially but this does fade. By way of contrast the hoppy finish is quite fine.

One of those ubiquitous refreshing hoppy summer ales, and quite a good one. Nothing really to distinguish it from the pack though. Golden colour. Clean floral hoppy aroma. Flavour is the same. Crisp dry finish. One dimensional, but pleasant. Cask (handpump), Red Lion (JDW), Skegness
