Cask - The Parrot, Canterbury. A clear, golden yellow with a fine, loose white head. Citrusy hop aromas, grassy and pine with a nice malty fruit balance. Good dose of citric hops on the tongue with a leaning towards a resiny character, some peach and ample malt. Light to medium body, soft mouthfeel and low carbonation. Loads of great bitterness for the style.

Handpull @ ’Sporks, Crosse Keys. This one really surprised me! Very well balanced with a great hop bite and nice citrus notes. If you haven’t tried this recent batch give it a go, I’m pretty sure they’ve upped the hops.

Bottle. High creamy and lasting white head. Clear yellow thin looking body. Mild sweet barley malt aroma with grassy notes. Mild and relatively sweet barley malt flavor with an estonishingly long dry and bitter aftertaste. Low carbonation. In consideration of the low alcohol contents this beer is quite impressive.

Cask (Pullman, Helsinki)
Light citrussy and light grain aroma - popcorny and wheaty. Refreshing body, but a touch thin. Slightly earthy hops, with a fairly dry and resiny bitter finish. This is not the modern emasculated ’golden ale’. This is a proper pale ale with real bitterness.

Half, cask conditioned at The White Star, Stoke-on-Trent. Light pale golden body. Minimal head. Floral fruity aroma. Oily hops in flavour with sweet hints of honey. Smooth and dry bitter aftertaste. Well bodied, refreshing and likeable (02.05.09).
