Cask at O’Connells. Clear copper color, good off-white creamy head. Aroma has caramel and light earthy hops. Light-bodied. Caramel, leafy hops, even toffee. Lingering English bitterness in the aftertaste. Sweet, light and a bit hoppy.

Cask at the Victoria Inn, Rugby, 17/04/13. Dark amber/copper with a thin off white head that retains well. Good lacing ensues. Nose is dark malts, fruit, light toffee, a little thin overall. Taste comprises berry fruits, Ribena Lite, touch of hops, malt, caramel. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, bitterness in the finish. Drinkable but a safe bitter which doesn’t set my world on fire.

Cask; brown, amber tints, thin loose white head; sweet malty aroma; lightly sweet malty flavour; smooth; bitterness develops towards the finish and lingers; a shade woody; a decent enough session bitter.

Cask at Wellington, Birmingham
Dark mahogany color, beautiful with its red shades. The aroma shows a suspicious light trace of apples. The flavor has some quite good dark caramel and roasted malts, with traces of apples too, and correct bitterness. I wonder about the bitterness, but it’s a pretty good Bitter.

First tasted this in Gabriels, Paisley in March 1997. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear copper in colour with a thin creamy white head. Hint of sweet caramel in the short aroma. Thin but creamy mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a robust maltloaf base with ginger bread notes. Strong caramel and raisin fruit very much in evidence. Strong earthy hop prickle noted in the long aftertaste. Finish is smooth and malty with raisins and orange peel full in the booming mouth. A decent session bitter and recommended.

Recently had two poor Titanic beers, this my 11th one of there’s this year and what a quality ale. Had on cask at Cask Bar in Manchester, after Rochefort 8 it was a tough ask, but this was superb. Strong Walnutty/coffee nose, taste of roast, chocolate, bit of lemon. Chestnut coloured ale, very impressed indeed, definitely not what I expected.
