A mild of classic style full of roast malt and balanced by delicate hops. True to type it has a rounded sweetness and a smooth dry finish.

Cask. Aroma of toasted malts. Pours dark chestnut with a thin tan top. Lace wash. Tastes mainly of the malts with hops pushed well back and only evident in the languid bitterness. Easy drinking but I rate their porter more highly. At the Lincolnshire Poacher as part of the Mild Trail.

Cask at the Wellington, Birmingham. Poured a clear dark brown with a round bubbly off white head. The aroma is light roasted malt. The flavour is moderate bitter with a smooth, light, slightly watery roasted malt, liqourice, dry spice, light hop bitter palate. Light bodied with flat carbonation.

Black, lots of ruby light through, beige head
Aroma of soft dark fruits, not much else
Taste of soft dark caramel, soft dark fruits, dab of dark toffee, bit of candy puff, fairly fruity malts, not much dark malts
Palate - Thin body, bit too thin, soft sweet. Finish as main flavour, fairly quick finish
Overall - Found this a bit disappointing, very average.

UPDATED: JUL 19, 2015 Cask at The Roebuck (Titanic) A clear ruby brown colour with a thin beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, berries, some smokiness and tar. Taste of roasted malt, coffee, berries, a little sugary sweetness and cocoa. Light bodied and a watery, thin texture. A short roasted finish. Typically thin but ok, not has good has Titanic’s Nautical Mild though.

Cask at Draft House Clapham. Dark brown, small bubbly tan head. Aroma is light cola, slight vinegar (the casks here are always slightly dodgy). Body is medium to light, watery, smooth, low carbonation. Taste is ’mild’, soft orange peel, gluey molasses, very light ash, quite watery, no real bitterness. Average stuff.
