FatPhil (3446), Espoo, Finland Jul 14, 2008 Cask (Ealing BF2008)
Classic dark mild appearance. Sweet fruity hops on the nose. A little watery, but OK. Rich malty taste. Pretty OK mild. berkshirejohn (1767), Bracknell, Berkshire, England May 12, 2008 Cask at the Waggon and Horses (JDW), Alfreton.. A really excellent mild. Blackish brown with a tan head, when held to the light a raspberry purple hue is revealed; aroma of cherry and plum; very fruity flavour with raspberry, cherry and plum - rather like an old-fashioned cherryade; depsite all the fruit it’s not over sweet; the finish has dry roasted malts and a hint of hops. A very well put together beer. downender (2537), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England May 2, 2008 Cask-conditioned at the Hillgrove Porter Stores, Bristol 2/5/08. Dark brown in colour with a slight tan head. Aroma of red fruit with a hint of roastiness. Flavour had a malty edge before a dry, bitter finish. Good. Ethereal (1500), London, Greater London, England Mar 2, 2008 Gravity cask at the Battersea Beer Festival, 7th Feb 2008. Deep chestnut brown in colour with an aroma of malt, cherries, leather and tobacco. Flavour is a good balance of malt and hops with tobacco notes but unfortunately some vegetable tones too. Good long hoppy finish to it. Interesting but not outstanding. renffisch (496), london, Greater London, England Feb 23, 2008 half at the 18th camra bf in battersea. Great smooth dark red brown pint. very round sweet taste with light hop notes. beatifully well crafted beer. very tasty indeed. Ungstrup (14754), Frederiksberg, Denmark Feb 17, 2008 Cask at Volunteers Arms, GBBF 2007. A very dark brown beer with an orange head. The aroma has notes of chocolate, oranges, and sulphur. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt as well as lighter notes of chocolate. The body is thin - no wonder. ChristianScheffel (4431), Odense, Denmark Jan 7, 2008 Cask at GBBF2007: Black with a brown hue, lasting off-white head. Grassy unpleasant aroma. Dry and pungent flavour. I wonder if it was off or my expectations were wrong. Rastacouere (5551), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Nov 28, 2007 Considering the style, Scores ranging from 1 to 5, 5 being the most intense

Comments: A sweet, malty ale that keeps its drinkability and offers a pleasant nutty fruitiness.
