3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On cask at The Wellington. Appearance: ruby red/brown with a small off white head. Aroma: a little damp cardboard, malty with a hint of sweetness. Flavour: dark fruit, some nuttiness, caramel and grass, quite flavourful for such a low ABV. Kudos.

Cask at the Moon Under Water (JDW), Watford on 10 June. Very dark pour and coffee and ripe fruit aromas. Very nice, full bodied mouth feel, but easy drinking. Sweetness balanced by some light dark chocolate bitterness. Quite quaffable.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
My Bottom Line:
Prunes, vanilla and wet stones are met by a sudden earthy hop bitterness in this characterful Mild Ale.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam covers the dark brown with ochre highlights.
-The hop bitterness is quite lengthy, partly due to the dry finish.
-Mouthfeel is a bit limp but never short on flavor.
-Malt flavors could be tighter.
On cask at Cask Pub & Kitchen.
