COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask, Festival Special;
This new, deep-ruby-coloured beer has been brewed exclusively for this Wetherspoon real-ale festival. The use of dark chocolate and black malts creates a powerful, dark flavour, while the generous quantities of wheat malt give a smooth, biscuity note. A gentle hop bitterness completes the rich, opulent character.

From cask. Pours slight tan and creamy yet with a dense head. Roasted dark malty, breadish and acidic roasted. Breadish too. Crisp hoppy and fruityflavoured. Simple.

Cask handpull at Shakespeare Head, JDW, Holborn. Very dark brown colour with lasting beige head. Slightly spicy brown malty beer. It’s got some choc, but mostly coffee which is lovely. It’s good. Drinkable, likeable. Good big flavours but balanced. Yep, I liked it. Touch of harshness and bitter which is good.

Spoons Fest! Clear dark brown beer, residual white head. Light dry palate. Very mild dark malt, lightly spiced. Some tea and then some sweet orange hop hiding underneath. Traces of banana and bubblegum. Dry finish. Decent.

Cask Handpump at the Time Piece JDW, Dewsbury 27/11/2010 Fruity aroma. White head. Dark coloured hoppy and fruity with a bubble gum flavour. A hint of dryness and citrus in a very bitter slight roast finish.

Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Black with tan head. Whew, this is quite unusual, but quite exciting too. Initially pretty hoppy, bright and tangy with quite a succulent character, then comes a chocolatey bitterness, it all seems to work in reverse to normal. Really quite enjoyable.

Cask Conditioned Handpump Eastgate Northampton. A dark and hazy chestnut coloured beer with an off-white thickish head. A nice bitter beer with good hops. The aroma is too thin though. A pleasant sweet edge to balance the hops. Nice tasting beer.

Cask at The Central Bar, JDW. Pours an opaque, light ruby-brown with a lingering, light beige head. Holds an enticing dark malt aroma with perhaps some floral hops. Flavor has moderate sweetness, faint roast, and some interesting flowery notes. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. The finish is light roasted malts, faint mocha and light, dry bitters. Pretty nice brew.

Cask, Lord Keeper of the Great Seal, Oadby. Near black with a beige foam. Aromas are chocolate and coffee with nutty and smoky notes. Almost like a Rauchbier. Flavours are sweet chocolate and plummy malts with sweet and bitter grapefruit. Dry on the finish. Good.
