COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask, Special;
Tasting Notes: Indian Pale Ales were sent to the troops at the height of the British Empire, the alcohol preserving the beer during the long voyage. This honey golden beer delights the palette with initial sweetness that rapidly fades as the powerful citrus hops take over. Clean and refreshing in taste above the waterline the boldness and strength lurks beneath and there is more of it than you can imagine.

Bottle from Bernie’s Real Ale off licence, Solihull. Poured a clear light amber with a thin white head. The aroma is malty and a litlle hoppy. The flavour is medium bitter, with lots of rich malt and a very bitter aromatic palate. A very flavourful and refreshing ale.

Ottima!

Aroma is citrus hops and understated malts. The flavor is citrus, malts, a hint of grapefruit and a dry/bitter finish.

Full-bodied, slightly tangy ale and it does not feel like the strength it is.

tombyars (1204) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - APR 24, 2012
Tasted this in the Salt Cot, Saltcoats (JDW) in April 2012. Cask, handpump dispense. Crystal clear pale amber in colour with a thin white head. Strong dusty aroma of hop flowers long in intensity. Smooth resiny mouthfeel and poor lacing. Pale malt gives a strong toffee biscuit flavour with a sweet honey glaze overlay. Dry hop resins flood into the aftertaste with dusty bitterness. Finish is very malty with warming mead notes rich in the throat. Dry smack of hop flowers right at the very end. A decent golden ale and well recommended.
