COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask;Occasional.
This beer is dark strong and well rounded; the richness of such a rotund beer is brought to an even keel by the late addition of Goldings hops and natural plum flavouring. Take the opportunity and go for the low hanging fruit, this sumptuous beer really is a plum!

Tap(CBC Clerkenwell):Deep amber coloured with a ruby sheen; moderate sweetish plummy and toasty nose with distinctive herbal hops in the background; moderate, but pretty distinctive, bitter-sweet flavour, soft and almost medium bodied; lingering more herbal than roasty than plummy finish. A good one…

Cask at Craft Beer Clerkenwell during RBESG 2014. Clear deep amber beer with a small beige head. Fruity roasted aroma, plum, vinous, some chocolate, raisins, some grapes. Fruity flavor, plum, caramel. Really sweet and not much of a porter.

Bottle. Nose is plum, sticky dark fruit, slight smoke. Taste is wood, strong plum ’falvouring’, bitter smoke in the finish. Mouthfeel is good. Very bored of the tacky plum note by the end of the glass, meh.

On tap at The Wellington, pours a dark mahogany with a small beige head. Nose is extremely fruity, bringing out loads of jammy plums. Flavour isn’t quite as jammy, with lots of dry plums and a dry, almost astringent finish. Thin-bodied without any complexity. Decent.

AdiBeer (1034) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 27, 2014
Aroma: strong plums, really smells of Japanese plum wine. Appearance: clear dark brown, small white head. Taste: medium sweet. Palate: plums again, sweet, getting lightly bitter towards the long finish. Overall: interesting fruit beer, really quite dedicated to plums (as it says in its name). Pint at the Cheshire Cheese, Buxton.
