This beer is dark strong and well rounded; the richness of such a rotund beer is brought to an even keel by the late addition of Goldings hops and natural plum flavouring. Take the opportunity and go for the low hanging fruit, this sumptuous beer really is a plum!

Botella. Amber brown like colour. Quite sweet dark fruity plum candy like bit aroma with some roastiness under all that sweetness. Good mouthfeel. Quite sweet flavour, dark fruity plum roasty like, some chocolate too. Rather too sweet.

Bottle 50cl. Poured into a shaker. Clear deep dark brown, small frothy tan head, mostly diminishing, light lacing; aroma roasted malts, plum, blackberry jam; taste medium sweet and bitter, roasty, plums, bit bubblegum; aftertaste mild bittersweet, roasty notes; smooth mouthfeel, light body, oily to watery texture, average carbonation; has more of a fruit beer than a porter, nice and pleasnt though.

This beer is really really poor! It has no affiliation with a porter apart from the dark colour. other than that it is very thin and light bodied with almost no bitterness. In fact it is quite sweet. It forms a small head which doesn’t last long. The aromas are quite pleasant, very much plum. the only flavours are of plum. it is not rich but more artificial. If you are a fan of porter then you will be disappointed by this as it is technically poor. If you like fruit beers and are not a fan f complexity then you will enjoy this beer but will perhaps not know much about the subject. I actually poured it down the sink I was that disappointed.

Deep brown in colour with ruby red tint and a small beige head. Sweet plum fruity aroma, quite sweet, malt and plum flavour. Full in the mouth, a long mellow finish with some bitterness at the end.

A lot of fresh red and purple plums in the aroma. Very fruity, quite sweet. Has also notes of strawberry jam. Ruby, reddish and purple color, it’s clear. Beer served from cask, so has a super tiny creamy head and quite a lacing. In taste is a bit less rich than in aroma, but still it’s very nice. Has this fruity notes in front. It’s obviously very smooth and velvety. Doesn’t rather have typical porter notes. I would rather say it’s a mild. Good one, surpassing.

500ml bottle at home on 22nd March 2016: poured into a Abbot Ale badged pint glass tankard. As you’d expect from a Porter, this was very dark: black in fact, the head a full and lasting tanned affair. Plums in the nose and taste, semi-sweet yet with a mild bitter finish: pleasant.

Cask @ Montgomery’s Tower, Shrewsbury. Pours deep ruby, creamy beige head. Aroma is sweet rosy plums and stewed hedgerow berries. Taste is ridiculously smooth with a luscious plummy sweetness and well-integrated chocolate. Absolutely lovely beer.

Appearance- very dark brown, ruby tinges, murky, a thick creamy beige head. Looks the part. Aroma- stewed fruit, rhubarb crumble, milk chocolate, raisin, plum, brown bread, apple crumble. Taste- dark chocolate, prune, grape juice, plum, cranberry, bitter dry finish, juicy and slightly clingy mouthfeel. Sweet sugary undertones with hints of caramel. Tasty stuff, a good dessert beer.
