3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Dark black/brown ale with a thick lumpy rich tan head. Nose is coffee, caramels, some honey, dark malts. In the mouth it’s rich and malty, but with a bitter kick. Lots of chocolate and toffee, but there’s a strong bitter trying to push through making this a nice drink - not too sweet, not too bitter. Strong flavour, not strong alcohol. Good stout stout!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at home, 8th February 14. Pours a good looking beer, too much head for a stout though. A little fizzy on the palate, aroma is ashy some chocolate, taste is smooth, sweetish and some bitter hops. Not a bad beer

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: FEB 11, 2014 Bottle as part of a gift pack from The Royal Exchange, Stone. Pours almost black with a huge fluffy beige head. Aroma is chocolatey and roasted malt with a hint of coffee. Taste is big on malt, smooth dark chocolate and espresso. Carbonation tickles the palate as it goes down and not too oily as sone stouts can be. Tasty.

Bottle. BB 26/07/14. Pours a dark reddy brown with a beige head. Aroma is a light coffee with a grassiness too. Light to medium body, mild carbonation. Fairly light, with a bit of coffee, citrus and dark chic. OK balance, but lacking body. Fine.
