MiP (6723), Flensburg, Germany Aug 20, 2008 Bottle, 4.5%. Smokey and fruity aroma. Black colour, frothy stable light brown head. The flavour is a little thin, but quite nice. Roasted and slightly creamy.
Dezzilu (197), Whitmore Lake, Michigan, USA Jan 5, 2009 Initially poured dark, non-viscus, and with a minimum amount of head. A didn’t notice anything in the aroma except maybe the hops. The flavor was thin and sourish that left a unpleasant taste on the palate. I had a tough time choking this down. Great name, lousy beer. An average of 3.5/5.0? No chance. pivnizub (4181), Porúří, Germany Dec 30, 2008 Bottle. Presumably ruby-amber coloured, literally pitch-black with a tanned lacy head, sticking to the glass. Dry roast-malty nose with some fruity undertones. Moderate dry bitter flavour, light to medium bodied. Lingering, dry roasted-bitter finish with hints of cacao. Good stuff............ Ober (602), Best, Netherlands Dec 7, 2008 A clear almost black colored beer, with a dark beige/brown foamy head. The aroma of burned malts, coffee and some hints of chocolate with hop. The taste of roasted malt, a little chocolate with hops. Notes of dark fruits like cherry. The aftertaste is a little bitter and some dry. wyzzywyz22 (498), Wirral, Merseyside, England Nov 27, 2008 Bottle, Barleycorns, Nantwich. Black colour, next to no head. Aroma was dark chocolate and roasted malt. Thin body. Unappealing, somewhat teedious flavour that lacked real body. Nothing really wrong with this , but seriously overrated on here, just can’t see the appeal.... Each to his own, blah blah cliche cliche JK54B (501), Finland Nov 2, 2008 Chocolate in the nose. Beige head. Dark reddish brown colour. No sweetness. Some mocca in the taste. Slightly bitter and sour taste. A bottle from K-market.
