2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A massive 0.5l bottle. This bottle has to weight at least 2 or 3 kilos. Anyhow, it pours a clear a clear deep deep ruby-brown body with a small but heavy lacing beige head. It smells light roasted and berry-sweet, some clear chocolate tones here and perhaps also some burned caramel. Not horrible. It has a really thin oily texture and it’s quite soft carbonated. Light roasted flavors also, some chocolate. Really easy to drink, and it’s leaving a mild dry tongue. Not bad, not great. 20.07.2012

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Tap. Earthy roasted malt aroma. Classic black with cram top. Served from the craft corner so in my view over-chilled. This may explain why the flavours were more muted. Bready rather than biscuity with the barley outweighing the hops on the first taste. Some Smokey undertones and one can detect where the vanilla stout hails from. While more to my taste than most Guinness served this may keep me in the mild porter camp.
