2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
12th July 2012
Chelmsford Beer Festival. Light haze on this gold beer. Tidy suddy white head. Smooth palate, very mild carbonation. Mild citrus and mild mild malt. Smooth finish. Somewhat nondescript, doubly so when it comes from Titanic!

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask conditioned handpump Bold Dragoon Northampton 10/07/12. A golden beer with a whitish head and lace. There are definite notes of diacetyl in thie, otherwise relatively sweet, beer. Lemony hops in the background. A range of flavours and a reasonable depth, but not everything’s good.

Cask (Wheatsheaf, post-RBESG2011 Monday)
Dodgy aroma. Acrid palate. Past its prime. Sweet fruity background. Green apple retronasals. Gets worse after you swallow - scrape it off your tongue! Should rerate fresher.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Cask - The Wheatsheaf, Borough, London. A slightly hazy orange beer with a small though lasting creamy white head. Mild toffee aromas backed by apple & lemon citric notes. Similar again on the palate with orange and light toasty tones. Light to medium body, spritzy carbonation with a lingering grassy, citric bitterness in the finish.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
On cask at JDW, Stone. A light amber pour with a white head. A let down from Titanic. An average dark golden ale which grows on you as you sup it but doesn’t get any better than OK.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask (@Three Legged Mare): Golden to deep golden, lacy - sticking to the glass - white head; moderate bitter-hoppy nose with pale-malt underneath; dry bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied - but not watery; slightly lingering delicate lemony-hoppy finish with some more fruity undertones. Good and refreshing......

Cask conditioned at The Royal Blenheim, Oxford. Gold with white head. Light and fruity body leading to a fresh hoppy, dry, grapefruity, fairly typical of Titanic character, which always goes down well as Andy would remark, and did.
