OK. We’re all a bit craft beer right now. Sometimes you just need to go old school. Pint at the Cask and Barrel. Pours golden/amber with generous creamy head Smells of caramel and malt, then on the taste is nicely bitter, hints of toffee and lime. Almost IPA-ish, but at base, a bloody drinkable bitter/ale. Bravo. Sessionable to the max.

Purchased from a major supermarket chain mainly cause I hadn’t tried it. Personally I think it is not a bad example of what a golden ale should be like. Great mouth feel and depth of flavour lingering in my mouth for ages.

the aroma is malty and herbal with shades of grain and spicy grasses... the taste is malty and spicy, rather clear and refreshening with smooth hoppy bitterness... bitter and dry aftertaste...

Clear golden beer with a thin white head. Light bitter aroma. Flavour is a touch sweet with bitter citrus and hop. Unremarkable but drinkable.

Bottle from Bargain Booze, New Mills, Derbyshire. Pours amber with thick, frothy white head that lingers longer than with most bottled beers. Aroma is malty and doughy, taste is sweet with caramel and biscuit notes that become a little sickly after a while. Maybe some elderflower. Cloying sweet finish. Enjoyed for a few mouthfuls but got too sweet after that.

Bottle. Thin white head that dissapated almost immediately, bitter grapefruit aroma and slighty hoppy taste but the bitterness comes through on the tongue. Not bad but not great.
