It’s hazy, beautiful red mahogany with a creamy head and the aroma has notes of malt, caramel and tart berries. The flavor is moderately sweet with notes of malt, citrus, slightly tart berries, caramel and the finish is rather dry, probably because of the cinnamon, that I do not find as a note. The aftertaste is long.

Bottle conditioned, 500ml, from York Beer & Wine. Clouded red brown with slight head. To be fair, it was a bit of a wreckage this one. Fruity, spiced, nutty with some roastiness but a bit of a miss match with flavours at angles to the body of the beer. Having said that its quite drinkable and full.

500ml bottle (Utobeer, London)
Deep red, brief head. Sweet chocolat cakey aroma, plenty of treacly sweetness. Sweet smooth palate, carbonation pleasant. Big bold sweet taste packed with roasted malts, and with a really burnt bitter bite. Definitely a spicy bent, but not in an overpowering or gimmicky way. Alcohol well covered. Finish pleasantly bitter, not just hoppy, but also burnt.

A Mes rate. Bottle from the Rake. An amazing bright ruby colour but no head at all. Nice creamy alcohol and cakey malt. Chunky dark fruit and a pleasing liquidice note. Straight forward but very enjoyable.
