3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle at Belgian Beer Cafe in Sydney. Stunning aroma but first sip is a little underwhelming by comparison. Hoeggarden-ish but not as satisfying somehow.

Standard Belgian witbier. Wheaty, fruity and with some fresh herbs. Decent, not very exciting.

Keg Devonshire Cat Sheffield 04/06/14. A hazy straw coloured beer with a white head. A sourish wit. Interesting and pretty decent and tasty. refreshing. Hints of sweet toffee in the nose. I like the flavours in here.

Jolie couleur jaune trouble; peu d’arômes; goût un peu épicé mais pas très agréable; une déception

Bottle sample at Tripel, A’dam. Hazy yellow with a green hue, white head. Aroma of buttery wheat, coreander, some orange peel. Flavour is wheat, light-tart, butter, coreander, light tart-bitter finish. Light-bodied. Not great.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Sweet aroma with some orange. Flavour has a touch of spice and yeast together with some sweeter notes of banana and orange.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
250ml bottle from Vanuxeem. Has a milky coconut texture rather than watery, with seemingly diluted Belgian yeasts. Definitely one of the lower quality wits out there.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
330ml bottle. Pours a hazy pale gold, with a large white head, which lasts well but does not leave much lacing. The aroma is very doughy, with some mild orange peel, coriander and other spice notes coming through. Lemon zest and orange peel flavours up front lead into a very yeasty, doughy body. There is some mild coriander in the finish. All these flavours, however, are quite hard to judge, as this beer is quite over-carbonated. All in all, it is a fairly mediocre wit, not helped by its over-carbonation.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pours a hazy light straw with a thin white head. Aromas of lemon and spice. The taste is a bit thin with Belgian yeast characters of lemon, cloves and light banana. Very light body - a bit watery actually. Has a sweetness that seems a bit artificial. Not the best wit going round. A bit underwhelming really.
