Named in honor of the legendary Packer Johnny "Blood" McNally, this beer is a hybrid between and American Amber Ale and an Irish Ale. Ruby red in color, this brew expresses a complex and lightly roasty malt flavor resolving into a subdued sweetness that is complemented via the use of East Kent Golding hops for both flavor and aroma.

On tap at Backyard Grille in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Very smooth, sweet at first, almost cherry nougat, nut not overkill...more bitter as it warms. Very nice amber!

Had numerous times. First rate. Bottle. Nice looking red. Nose is nutty toasted malt. Light fruit. Flavor is tangy dark fruit with nutty toasted malt. Flavors are all subtle. Somewhat watery.

Taster on tap at Old Fashioned in Madison, Wisconsin. Clear red, slight orange color. Thin off-white head. Leaves good, thicker lace. Medium body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Light slick. A lot of caramel malt. Some fruitiness. Moderate sweet taste. Very light bitter. Ok. But, meh.

On tap. Lovely deep red pour w/beige head. Aroma was caramel and grain. Flavor was sweet, but a strange twinge of sour in the backdrop. Not as hopped as I expected. Barely mediocre.

4oz pour at the brewpub. A red that lives up to its name. Clear deep red color. Rich malty smells the malts come on first then slight hops come on.

Had a sample as part of the epic 14-beer sample flight at the brewpub. Solid for a red ale. Smooth, malty, round, slightly simple, but tasty enough.
