Bottle. Dry wood, vanilla, dark chocolate, cherries and other red fruit. And all on a robust malty base with an amazingly slick texture. Superb!

Comparing to non-BA version, this one is more dry and harsh in taste. You can finf here some oaky character and ise definetely more ashy. This makes this less drinkable, than regular Black Ball Porter, but still worth trying.

375ml bottle at home. Thick and pitch black porter, crowned with a beige foamy head. Starts off with bitter dark chocolate and coffee, smoked wood, liquorice, pepper, tar, light vanilla, smooth and creamy malts and sherry and cognac hints quite boozy too (especially considering 8% abv). Dry finish, lingers long and malty. Big body, low carbonation, thick and incredibly smooth mouthfeel. Misses some fruitiness to match my taste, otherwise a great ale.

Aroma: deep chocolate notes, vanilla, barrel. Appearance: deep black color, brown head. Taste: low bitterness (herbal), bitter chocolate, coffee, really smooth, woody notes, vanilla, semi-dry. Palate: full body and low carbonation, smooth herbal finish. Overall: Really good beer, complex and drinkable. PS. Tasting panel after the collaboration brewing of Pinta and To Ol. Greetings Tobias.

Bottle at home. Black pour, thick tan head. Aroma is roasty, spicy, licorice, slightly burnt, some sherry, oak, bread and chocolate. Flavor is quite bitter, very roasted, dry, smooth and with a nice barrel ageing touch without it overpowering the base beer. Great balance and superb silky texture.

UPDATED: DEC 25, 2014 Bottle. Beermoth. Very dark, clear, chestnut brown. Film of sticky, lasting, light brown head. Booze. Liquorice. Tar. Milk chocolate. Dark fruit. Any BA character is light. Given the base beer is so good, this is a little underwhelming on the nose. Taste is chewy sweet, then big, roast bitter. Some ashy dryness in there. Full, rich, smooth palate. Finishes chewy, roast, slightly fruity bitter.
