Bottle from Couleurs de Bières, Montpellier. Pours black, with brown head. Aroma quite smokey, hints of chocolate and coffee roast. Very creamy and smooth. Again smoke on the palate, more chocolate and dark coffee, a bit of caramel. Sweet to taste but well-balanced with smoke/roast and a fairly bitter finish.

September 27, 2015. Bottle at home, before november 17, 2019.
Black with a large brown head, slowly dissipating leaving some trace on the glass. Aroma is roasted malt, smoked malt, tobacco, hints of licorice and ash Taste is light sweet, roasted bitterness, smoked malts, with some ash notes and tobacco. Finish is roasted dry ashy bitterness with smoke notes and a somewhat watery texture to it, Medium bodied, soft to average carbonation.
Nice smoked porter, a bit thin and watery mouthfeel though.

Inky black pour, rising dense brown head. Aroma is chocolate, dark fruits booze. Kind of an "old book" aroma going on too. Taste is....good. Balanced - clearly quite a few hops in here, but principally on the bitter side. Remarkably refreshing finish for such a big beer. No one element dominates, which is pretty amazing for 8%. Big body, thick mouthfeel.

Average creamy dark brown diminishing head with murky black body. Heavy malt molasses and caramel with light dough yeast. Full creamy body with soft carbonation and bitter finish. Long duration flavor. Slightly sweet, acidic and heavy bitterness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From a bottle at the Bevog 2nd anniversary. Pours a dark brown, almost black color, topped with a fairly big tan colored head, very creamy. Quite roasty aroma with some mild chocolate notes. Creamy body with a quite grainy feel and moderate bitterness. Mild coffee that get’s a bit more noticeable with time. Not the best one, really.

Bottle to pint glass Lightly toasted malts, caramel, chocolate, oak, and campfire. Pours black with a 3 cm frothy light brown head with great retention. The lacing is quite interesting in that a ring would form with each taste. These rings were thick (in texture) and remained a long time. Taste is dark chocolate, bread (but not yeasty), with a nice smoky, bitter and sour ending. The palate is thick and chalky with some astringency.

(bottle, 33cl) Black coloured hue with a big and brown foamy head. Roasty and leafy malty aroma with notes of liquorice, wet wood, caramel, coffee and a whiff of smoke. Moderately roasty bitter and subtle sweet flavour, medium to full bodied with an almost creamy carbonation. Roasty but also soft malty mouthfeel with flavours of liquorice, dark chocolate, coffee and subtle notes of dried fruits; quite bitter and lasting finish with a cornucopia of flavours and a mild but balancing malty sweetness, accompanied by a moderate alcoholic bite. Very good. 04.IX.15
