Bottle @ NK Bar. Black colour with a tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt. Flavour is roasted malt, a bit of coffee, hops, some bitterness. Might be a bit too heavy on the hops for this kind of porter.

Deep dark brown almost black with brown huge and very stable head. Aroma.. hard roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee, alcohol, nicely hopped. Rich and strong, well matured. Sweetish with long decent bitter finish. Smooth. Very good balance. Very nice example.

Just got hold of this today, bottle didnt really appeal to me but i decided to have a go and my god it was worth it! Poors a very impressive black colour with a huge tan head, just looking at it i had high hopes for this one. Lovely creamy mouthfeel, was remarkably easy to drink at 8% abv, flavours of chocolate, coffee, roasted nuts, lively carbonation, throughly enjoyed this one :)

Black color, huge, slowly dimishing dark head, leaves finally a good two millimeter width compact film. Aroma seemed too alcoholic to me, but also very good balanced. Malty hints of chocolate, and hoppy notes of pine and wood. Full body, medium carbonation. Creamy texture. Long finish, mainly bitter. Taste is led by chocolate and coffee; maybe not so fine that other first-line porters. Alcohol is very well masked. A very good one!

Nera, schiuma marroncina mediamente persistente. Aroma di malti tostati, caffè e luppoli americani. Al palato ingresso cremoso. Fin da subito amara con punte dolci. Caffè e cioccolato amaro immersi in una matrice luppolata, quest ultima mai stancante. Retrogusto complesso e molto piacevole. Una buonissima birra.

33cl bottle - Pours an impressive unrefined oil black with dark tan head, good carbonation. Palate is remarkably thin which makes for easy drinking, combined with the reasonable 8% ABV. Interesting interplay of opposite kinds of bitterness: piney+zesty hops vs liquorice and burnt malts with some lively acidity. As has been noted before, indeed somewhere between a Black IPA and a (Imp) Porter, due to its low sweetness/maltiness and refreshing lack of caramel/sugary notes. To revisit, but as with previous admirable To Ol brews, this for me could use more original character to become an instant all-time favourite.

From bottle. Rich brown/black appearance. Light aroma with pine and grass. Complex taste with smoke, chocolate and coffee well balanced with citrus and grapefruit. Lovely flavour.
