33cl bottle. Black colour with small/medium brown head. Full bodied and average carbonated. Aroma is a mix of wood, alcohol and hints of roasted malts. Those malts are more evident regarding taste, with some chocolate notes and a slightly bitter aftertaste. I find it too soft for a beer like this, but it’s not bad.

Bottle from emporium. Pours a dark black with a tan head which lasts. Good lacing. Aromas of dark chocolate, coffee, liquorice and pine. A very rich taste with strong coffee and pine. Quite an oily mouth feel.

Complex porter from a brewery in Kopenhagen, brewed with three American hops, four malt varieties including smoked malt, roasted barley and oat flakes. Deeply beige, mousse-like, thick, stable foam, colour completely black without any light shining through. Aroma malty, less strong than I expected, sourish and fruity notes, coffee grounds, fondant, liquorice, hazelnuts, sherry, cloves, dates, vanilla, grassy hops. Full and complex taste nonetheless, rich malt base with dark chocolate, caramel, nuts, coffee, thick and oily mouthfeel, herbal tones, citrussy and peppery hoppiness spreading out over back of tongue and throat supported by roasted bitterness (’cold coffee’), some warming alcohol further adding to the experience. Very complex and interesting beer, although I still fail to see the use of the term ’imperial porter’ instead of good-old ’imperial stout’.

Bottle. Pours a pitch black with nice beige head. Aroma: coffee, roasted malts, licorice. No hops which is disappointing. Taste: coffee, roasty, dark chocolate, licorice. Great, full body and oily texture.

Pretty good for a beer that was stored for two years in a room that got as high as 80°. Had a small thick tan head that didn't last too long and good lacing. Aroma was cocoa mole asses raisins malt. Flavor was milder than aRoma cocoa malts and very smooth. Excellent palate. Very drinkable ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Zwart bier, bruine kraag. Mooie volle porter. Goede balans tussen koffie bitterheid, chocolade en wat overrijp fruit. Goede carbo.

Bottle. Pours a pitch black body under a one finger frothy brown head that left some sticky lacing. The nose is pretty intense, lots of roast, chocolate, licorice, and burnt caramel. Some lighter notes of alcohol, light smoke, and a bit of citrusy hops. The flavor is a little too burnt and a bit acrid for my preferences, but there are some nice licorice and dark chocolate notes in here. There’s a bit of alcohol heat on the finish, but fairly well restrained. Medium bodied and just a touch clingy with soft fizzy carbonation. An OK beer, but nothing that I’d drink with regularity.
