Bottled, 330 ml. Pitch black colour, big creamy and stabile dark brown head. Nose of espresso, pine... Intensive aroma with coffee, pine and grapefruit underpainted by hints of dried fruits, sugar and alcohol, mouthfeel is syrupy. Long, boozy, bittersweet, grapefruity-tannic finish. Excellent.

Very nice Black IPA, both hoppy and burnt malts. Could be more of the latter,. though. Co2 quite perfect.

A beautiful lend of several tastes - expresso coffee, citrus hops, and semi-sweet chocolate leading the way. A relatively full and rich body, moderate carbonation and a long, smooth and dry finish cap off this gem of a black double IPA.

Bottle shared. Black pour with creamy off white head. Aroma is quite roasty, very grassy, lots of grassy piney hops, light tropical notes. Taste is bitter, roasty, quite dry not too sweet. Palate is med bodied, lighter than I expected really with good carbonation.

Keg at Mother Kelly’s, Bethnal Green, London. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Roasty, malty, coffee, chocolate aroma. Tastes similar, roasty, malty, coffee, chocolate, vanilla, hint of grapefruit and pine, slight sweetness. Rich and really complex, a quite superb beer from To Øl.

330ml bottle from BrewDog OnLine Store. Almost black, reasonable tan head. Coriander, cumin & hop aroma. Sharp spicy coffee aroma. Bitter chilli coffee aftertaste. I don’t normally like beers this strong but this is a good one.

Bottle to flute First beer rated with the words "body salts" in it. Aroma is primarily grass and spruce, some pepper, pine, dark chocolate and grapefruit too. Pours a deep oily black with a frothy and creamy (mottled) tan, head that is long lasting and provides significant lacing. Taste is tropical and grapefruits, pine sap, and ends with a bitter coffee taste.
