375 mL bottle shared by ebone1988. The pour is a medium to light black with a nice light tan head that falls to a film and bubbly collar and leaves quite a hearty lacy behind. The aroma is full is biter roasted malts at first and then the coffee moves through nicely. Its a little single dimentional, because I was hoping for more bitter roast and strong hop. But the coffee is a nice addition. Its just lacking something. The flavor is a collection of light items. The roast is definitely present, and there is a little hop, but for the most part, its disappointing. There is a hint of coffee, light roast and hop bitternesses, and its not what I was hoping for. The mouth feel is thin and watery with a roasty bitter aftertaste that has a little chocolate. The carbonation is a little light and off, but oh well. Its not quite a drop off from the nose.

Bottle shared with koleminer20. Aroma is earthy hops, coffee, crazy roasted malt, pine, very robust. Appearance is dark dark brown, light brown head. Taste is coffee, bitterness, roast, pine, earthy hops, there is nothing really happening here. Mouthfeel is light to medium body, watery, roasted malt and pine aftertaste. Overall, this is incredibly disappointing.

Small salty caramel and toffee finish. Taste: full body with roasted malt and coffee notes. Chocolate powder notes. Toffee caramel with grassy hops. Very intensive taste. Good attenuation and quiet drinkable. Aftertaste: grassy hoppy with wet bitterness roasted malt and chocolate.

Tap, TCBW 16. Dark body, medium head. Aroma is roasty with coffee notes, the hop aromas are less dominant. Taste is mostly roasty and has coffee bitterness instead of a big juicy hop bitterness I expected from the best Black IPA in Europe. A bit unusual for a BIPA but generally a good dark ale.

On tap at TCBW 2016. Almost black liquid. Sticky beige froth. Very nice coffee taste with notes of berries. Tangerines in the middle. Citrussy, bitter finish. Really nicely balanced DIPA with coffee accent.

Bottle courtesy of euro Summer Santa. Thank you! Held on to this like it was an Imperial Stout rather than a BIPA. Well see if that was the right thing to do. Pours blackish dark brown with a big frothy and creamy beautiful looking dark mocha head that slowly dissipates while leaving lots of sticky lacing and trace on the glass. Smell is malty, slightly fruity, slightly grassy and slightly earthy with roasted malts, burnt caramel, grapefruit juice, tangerines, unripe mango, moist grass, dark roast coffee, resinous wood, moist soil, salty liquorice hard candy, orange zest and lemon zest. Taste is sweet, heavy bitter, malty, tiny fruity, slightly grassy, slightly earthy and woody. Mouthfeel is soft, round, heavy astringent, tiny boozy and medium bodied. Finish is tiny sweet with roasty bready caramel malty and heavy bitter with grass, herbs and resin. Bit too heavy on the bitterness but the malt base almost supports it. Will revisit a fresher bottle at some point. This was good but a bit rough.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Hoppy smell with some hard bread, light coffe and dark malts in the background. Hoppy taste with a dark malty backbone, not roasted though. Very nice! The ABV is well hidden.
