4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tons of roasted malt, prominent coffee, primarily pine for the hop profile accompanied by some citrus. Firm, but not overbearing bitterness provides an interesting counterpoint to the richness of the coffee. Really nice stuff!

Pours with a nice, steady head. Jet black with hops, coffee, chocolate aroma. Very full body, strong taste. Bitterness a bit over average but a very good beer indeed.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours black with thin head. Aroma is mostly tropical fruits, American hops, licorice notes and a bit of coffee. Flavour is again fruity hops and in the finish roasted malts, coffee and nice bitternesses from hops and coffee. Some licorice notes. Alcohol is hidden very well. Full bodied with great creamy texture. Very drinkable regardless of 10% ABV. Great beer.

33cl bottle at home. Pours black with thin tan head. Nice lacing on the way down. Aroma is floral, tropical fruits, hops, with the slight hint of coffee and dare I say a scent of the sea in the background. Flavour is a smooth sweet creamy malt with a fruity, coffee, salty bitter finish. The alcohol is so well managed you forget it. These flavours are excellently well managed and it all comes together although I’m not sure how. Full bodied, complex and slick mouthful. Fantastic beer.

Bottle pour. What a surprise. Pours a beautiful pitch black. I had some worries about the flavor profile but it is beautifully balanced. Subtle notes of coffee balanced with hops and a nice bite.

Thou I am not a fan of black ipas, this one works for me quite well.
Quite complex and interesting balance between moderate intense roasted malts, coffee and huge citrusy hops profile. Bit salty, some notes of licorice, pine
Sweet with quite intense bitter finish. Interesting and enjoyable, thou black ipa.. not my style

Opaque pitch black color, medium to full sized light brown head that leaves good lacing. Aroma is malts, dark and roasted malts, hops, some coffee. Taste malts, roasted malts, lots of hops, nicely bitter, dark roast, coffee in the back of your throat. Full body, medium carbonation. Wonderful beer. Oh yes. Lovely.
