5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Aroma: grass, coffee, citrus, resin, cocoa, chilli, grape, caramel, vanilla, bubblegum, wood, roasted nuts, herbs; Appearance: dark brown, small foamy head; Taste: medium bitterness, medium sourness, slight sweetness; Palate: slick texture, full body, average carbonation, long finish
Pretty dry after aging, yet still pretty drinkable and with well-hidden alcohol. Crosses style borders between black IPA and a RIS thanks to maturing. Very complex. Stuffy.

Süß malziger Hopfenantrunk, vollmundig. Die Malzigkeit steigert sich noch etwas, süffig, mild röstig. Steigend röstig zum Ende hin, dabei intensiv grasig, insgesamt harmonisch. Gut! 11/12/13/12/10/12

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
11-APR-2014, draft @Mikkeller & Friends.
Black with lasting, creamy, tan head.
Aroma is roast, burnt, coffee, grape fruit, pine. Taste the same. Very bitter from hops and roast. On the roasted side. Medium body+, medium carbonation but turns a Little thin on the finish.
Perhaps not thin for an IPA but as this has the taste profile of a hoppy porter, it comes out on the thin side.
Not as good as the regular. There are som dry Wood notes that I am not all that fond of. But apart from that barrel aging is far from dominant.
