375ml bottle pours out a dark brown almost black topped with a tan head. Nose is roast malts chocolate coffee vanilla. Taste is more of the sweetness roast malts chocolate milk. Much better then I was expecting.

Deep black colour with a lively brown head. Sour aroma - almost musky. Complex flavour of burnt toffee, more sourness & a balanced bitter finish. An interesting light stout but wouldn't be a regular choice. Rated by BrewTom

Aroma: woody notes, vanilla, dark malts. Appearance: black color, almost brown head. Taste: low bitterness, smooth (like after adding lactose), bitter chocolate, coffee, vanilla, dark malts. Palate: full body and low carbonation, chocolate finish. Overall: Complex taste, nice combination fo barrel notes and chocolate, recommended.

Muddy opaque pour with three fingers of creamy tan head. Nose shows some light roast and vinous/black coffee acidity. Light fruity notes and fruit skins as well with some oxidation. Interesting flavor, acidic roast and coffeeish notes. Vinous notes and fruit skins with a moderate sweetness and medium body. Meh.

375ml bottle from Brewdog online shop, shared with jeevan. Pours dark brown, thin creamy head. Slightly woody aromas, treacle, oaky, sour. Taste is sour, bretty, vinous, then sweet sugar, roast, some chocolate. Smooth texture, but really rich for the strength. Impressive.

deyholla (7695) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAR 12, 2015
Bottle. Pours black with a chocolate brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of sweet dark grain and light earthy roast with a dry wine barrel backing. Flavor has an interesting combination of sweet dark grain and wine barrel with a bit of earthiness underlying.

Roonai (305) - - MAR 12, 2015
Bottle shared by deyholla. Awesome combo of the rich chocolatey milk stout, smooth mouthfeel and the barrel cuts through to keep it interesting and light let than straight stout- in a flavor sense
