We bring to you an black thick milk stout called By Udder Means. We wanted to do a stout, that had a thick mouth feel and still a low alcohol percentage. We obtained this by adding a solid amount of lactose in the beer. The yeast strain we used is not capable of fermenting lactose, so when the beer stops fermenting all lactose still remains in the beer. At the same time lactose doesn’t leave this sweet touch to the beer, so you can obtain a thick mouth feel without having an overly sweet or overly strong stout. We hope you enjoy.

dark brown, fluffy tan head, full bodied, warming, roasty, chocolate, lots of dank resinous piney simcoe hops, chocolate orange, very small residual sweetness, probably not much lactose here. long hoppy bitter finish...its a BIPA really!

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2015 This is good. Very balanced, quite sweet, thick for 7%, really nice roast. It’s just a really nice complex blend with no extreme output of a particular flavour, but i get some hints of rye bread and caramel, the roast level on this one is just perfect.

Bottle. Black pour, solid tan head. Aroma is roasted, bread, caramel, chocolate, some cream and a bit spicy. Flavor is bitter roasted malts, creamy, slightly sweet and with a nice thick body. Well balanced. Nice brew, only maybe a bit too creamy.

Considerando che come stile le milk stout non sono tra le mie preferite, questa birra si fa apprezzare comunque grazie a un bel corpo e al bilanciamento tra dolce e acidulo !!!

Crushed with Jakebra.
Pours basically black with a decent head and good lacing on the glass.

The aroma is roasty and chocolaty with a light spicy hop character.

The flavor is both enjoyably sweet and nicely bitter. It’s rich and roasty with a good chocolate character and a surprising dosing of hop flavor, which is far more prevalent in this beer than any other milk stout I’ve ever had, and it works pretty well here.

Defiantly cool beer.

Bottle shared with wyzzywyz22. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aroma is sweet blackcurrant juice, milky coffee, wood, leather. Good. Flavour I wasn’t so hard for, sweet chocolate, herbs, some coffee. Kind of different, not bad.
