COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The next beer in the To Øl hop adventure is now a reality – we present to you Dangerously Close To Stupid. An Imperial IPA at 9,3 % ABV with a close to stupid amount of Citra and Centennial Hops in it. It is a bright crisp and super dry-hopped IIPA with a smooth and balanced body. To make a tight transition between the hop profile and the body we have removed all caramel malts and focused only on basis malts. This is resulting in a nice fresh Spring/Summer IIPA that has a Dangerously Close To Stupid drinkability. We have for a long time been wanting to do a pendant to the Final Frontier Double IPA, that has this rich caramel body and we think we nailed it Dangerously Close to Perfect with this one

A bottle picked up from bottle shop Druid stree. A hazed translucent golden orange coloured pour with a big frothy rocky white head. Some chunky yeast bits. Aroma is some chewy toffee, caramel, piney hops, earthy pine, some alcohol. Palate is semi sweet , sovent, oily, moderate carbonation. Flavour is composed of semi sweet bready and caramel, dirty earthy pine hop, orange rind, some hot alcohol. Assertive piney bitterness.

Colore dorato, velata, bella schiuma molto fine e compatta.

Bottle @ home. Aroma of flowers, tropical fruit and citrus. Yellow amber colour with white head, fully lasting. Moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Medium+ body, oily feel, bitter fininish.

Bottle from Bradleys. Cloudy, deep gold with some sediment. Sweet mango aroma with grapefruit behind it. Very smooth thanks to the understated malt backbone. Hints at sweetness but is still dominated by the hop bitterness. Hides the alcohol really well.

Feb. ’16. A 0.33 l bottle that poured hazy yellow body with quite big head. Elderflower, pineapple, other tropical fruit aroma. Bitter flavor, especially at first, herbal and peppery. Later on malt came rounding it with mildly sugared (is that even a word?) biscuit and caramel. Seemed like a medium bodied brew due to hop bitterness but malt fully opened up in its long and malty vanilla&biscuit finish. Later on, when I thought it’s all over, some light residual bitterness again showed up. After-aftertaste... new words mood obviously. Dangerously-close-to-stupid-easy going, felt like a very low ABV pale ale, however it could be hinted in some more complex ways like "serious" hop-malt game along with light tingling on the tongue. Just excellent!

Kita (1894) - Koper, SLOVENIA - JUN 10, 2016
Bottle, 0.33l. Pours murky clay like color with rocky white head, great lacing and average sparkling appearance. Aroma of citrus, passion fruit, mango, yeast, herbs and pine. Taste starts with moderate sweet caramel and resin, follows by refreshing yeast. citrus and passion fruit, mouthfeel is astringent, while finish is heavy herbal bitter. Full body, syrupy texture and average carbonation in palate. Unbelievable yeast and tropical fruits’ concetraction at the end of bottle...

0,33l bottle. Very hazy orange colour with long lasting creamy white head. Aroma: Citrus, fig, honey, grass. Taste: Very sweet, very citrusy start, then a pleasent medium bitter motuhfeel. Sweet and bitter fighting in my mouth. Perfectly balanced. Very soft and smooth texture. Medium/huge body with soft carbonation. Long bitter/sweet finish. Excellent.

Bottle, pours hazy orange with a dense white head. Aroma of citrus, peach,. Taste has a solid malty backbone with lots of bitter and juicy fruit, grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pine, grass. Full bodied, creamy, low carbonation. Lingering fruity finish. Almost no booziness. Well done.

Sample during the "Deschutes Brewery at Bob’s Bar" event on 05/16/2016. Slightly hazy orange-gold color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of piney hops, citrus and malt. Medium to full body with a resiny hops character and notes of citrus and caramel malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a piney hop aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
