Dangerously disguised strength & surprisingly light with a good balance of hops & sweet malt. Some flowery & some fruity hops. An excellent imperial IPA. Rated by BrewTom

Gelb oranglich im Glas, trüb, alkoholisch süß, leicht grassig in der Nase, malzig süßlich im Antrunk, gefolgt von massiver trockener Hopfen bittere, grassige Aromen, nicht so fruchtig.

Pours very light with a bit of head. The aroma is very strong and the strong earthy flowery hops hit your nose hard. Taste is well balanced, strong malt sweetness but an even stronger earthy bitter hope finish. An enjoyable beer!

UPDATED: NOV 13, 2014 Cloudy orange color, average sized tan head. Lots of lacing. Very fruity aroma: mango, grapefruit, pineapple, peach. Full body, lively carbonation. Medium sweet, medium bitter taste. Nice hoppy character. Long bitter finish. Taste remains on the lips one hour after. Texture is kinda sticky. Alcohol is not noticeable. Insanely good.

330mkl brown bottle. The beer pours out cloudy and golden. A fine bubbled white cap on top. Attrractive lacing. Aromas are of pine and zesty orange peels, fruity notes and a bit of sweetness. Taste has a big load of hops with notes of grapefruit, heavy orange peel, pineapple, peach and mango fruit, some caramel notes. Finishes bitter, lots of hop aftertastes and perhaps a touch of alcohol late. Good brew.

UPDATED: FEB 15, 2015 Cloudy orange color, medium off-white head. Floral hops, tropical fruits, mango, pineapple, grapefruit, also a bit piney. Fruity bomb! Heavy bitterness. Medium body, soft carbonation, nicely creamy. Lady from Za Popen’t Pivoteka, thank you for suggesting this one!

Draft @ Mikkeller Bar Stockholm. Pours orange-golden and hazy, with one-finger stady head. Aroma has a lot of tropical fruits and caramel, wih less citrus notes. Very challenging and intense aroma. Taste has a lot of caramel, but tropical fruits are absent. Hoppiness is grassy and twiggy. Palate is quite sweet and surprisingly light, hoppiness is only medium. Great aroma, but taste is not so intense and fruity, which I’d like.

Bottle from Õllepood nr 1 Gambrinus in Tartu (€ 4,80), August 2014. Cool design, although the Comic Sansish font on the rear does raise some eyebrows (I mean at least two of mine). Colour is a pale yet murky orange. Head is off-white and... massive! It drops slowly and leaves a considerable lacing. Nose is extremely piney and resinous, giving off great early autumny warmth, plus some dried apricots. More maltiness appears as it warms. Taste is pine resin, ripe tropical fruits (juicy) and malts. The extreme bitterness is well balanced by the sweetish, biscuity malts. I don’t get much citrusy aspects anywhere here. The 9,3% ABV in here is well hidden, only hinting at its own existence in the looong, soothing, bitter and warming finish... and... well, actually the last 1/3 is rather alcoholic to be honest - but in an enjoyable way. Full body, velvety smooth mouthfeel and a sticky palate; carbonation is low. I love such stuff. And so do the many fruit flies I see hovering above my glass... Overall a very good DIPA (though I do enjoy many of the other widely available ones more) best enjoyed in the beginning of a Nordic autumn when some leaves have already fallen and become the same colour as this beverage. Oh I so will one day enjoy this on a bench in Kadriorg park, surrounded by yellow maple leaves!
