The next beer in the To Øl hop adventure is now a reality – we present to you Dangerously Close To Stupid. An Imperial IPA at 9,3 % ABV with a close to stupid amount of Citra and Centennial Hops in it. It is a bright crisp and super dry-hopped IIPA with a smooth and balanced body. To make a tight transition between the hop profile and the body we have removed all caramel malts and focused only on basis malts. This is resulting in a nice fresh Spring/Summer IIPA that has a Dangerously Close To Stupid drinkability. We have for a long time been wanting to do a pendant to the Final Frontier Double IPA, that has this rich caramel body and we think we nailed it Dangerously Close to Perfect with this one

Bottle from The Malting Pot. Cloudy orange, medium to large smooth head. Aroma grapefruit. Full body. Taste direct hoppy attack, some honey undertones. Long hoppy finish. Not too complicated, but a very good straightforward IIPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Good, but I expected more. Very dry, a lot of bitterness and a minimum of other shades.

Cloudy orange body with a small, off-white head that leaves some foam on the glass. Very strong aroma of slightly overripe tropical fruits, citrus (mainly orange) and caramel. Strong flavour of very overripe tropical fruits, caramel and some unusual notes of burnt sugar. Moderate sweet and heavy bitter taste. Full-bodied, oily, softly carbonated and with a light dryness in the finish. A solid DIPA.

Bottle at the 7th Tasting in Belgrade-Serbia with Vlada, Matt, Marko (budalo). Pours deep yellow, cloudy with a white foam which leaves draft on the glass. Nose: orange juice, tropical, papaya. Mouth: lively carbonated, tick body, oily, fruity, just lovely execution of the style.

330ml bottle, pours cloudy gold with a foamy white head. Big citrus hop notes, Seville orange, lemon, zesty tangy fruits over light biscuity and caramel malts. Light sweetness from the malts but this is balanced nicely with the hops to impart a dry bitter finish which hides the abv well. Body is medium, light oily texture with fine carbonation. There is a bit too much yeast in the bottom which makes it appear less refined than some beers but other than that this is a top notch dipa.

Bottle at home, thanks to James, 03/04/15. Hazed golden amber with a decent off white covering. Nose is pine, grapefruit, orange pith, tangerine, passionfruit. Taste comprises pine needle, mango, light booze, bitter tropicana, straw, sweet malt notes, candied fruit peel. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close peppered with hop bitterness. Decent DIPA.
