HKdIPA (348) - HONG KONG - JAN 30, 2015
Bottle from Hop Leaf at home. Hazy translucent musty orange straw yellow pour. Aroma is mango and pineapple hops with some plasticky notes. A bit resiny too. Taste is big hops - pine and some citrus and tropical fruit. Bitter finish, some lasting booziness. Normal - slightly thicker than usual - palate. Solid DIPA but not great.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2015 Resiny and piney, not that much tropical fruit. Some caramel, and very well balanced, but no dank fruitiness. Quite refreshing and alcohol is well very hidden.

Bottle 0.33 l. Cloudy liquid, looks like apricot juice. Average yellowish head. Full body, light carbonation. Rich with taste of fruits like pineapple, apricot and peach, citruses, touch of herbs. Medium sweetness, medium to heavy bitterness, long lasting finish. Very good one.

Dark cloudy orange brew, reminds me of a german hefeweissen. Great aroma, fresh with hops, citrus and subliminal hints of seaweed? Taste is slightly sweet and, of course, bitter and citric due to the heavy citra/centennial hopping. The high abv is not clear, more like 6-7%. This is a very fine IPA indeed.

Pours creamy cloudy orange with average white head. Medium creamy body. Aroma is floral, herbal, grassy, fruity, mango, citrus. Sweet and bitter taste. Good.

Light orange/straw coloured. Cloudy but bright, thick sudsy white head and lacing. Smell is lots of peach, banana, tangerine, orange creamsicle, musty hop, hay/plastic. Tastes of very bitter resinous hop, hay, lightly spiced malt. Body is crisp but creamy, fine carbonation. Great aroma and body but taste is a bit more boring.

Equally herbaceous and fruity - hop heaven - great bitter hit - sweet malt background - I took a couple of points away due to wayyy too high alcohol - leaves too hot an aftertaste - would like to drink more than a couple of these but Id fall over! Great beer.

330ml bottle from Bradleys. Pours a cloudy golden with a lovely lingering pillowy white head. It looks incredible. Aroma is one of the nicest I have ever smelled - lots of floral and fruity citrus, pine, strawberry, caramel, and a light touch of vanilla. Very finely balanced taste between the powerful and interesting dry hoppy bitterness and a lovely delicate caramel sweetness. Lively, dry and bittersweet finish. This beer is incredible. I would drink this again and again if I could get my hands on it. Comfortably the best IPA Ive ever had.
