COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The next beer in the To Øl hop adventure is now a reality – we present to you Dangerously Close To Stupid. An Imperial IPA at 9,3 % ABV with a close to stupid amount of Citra and Centennial Hops in it. It is a bright crisp and super dry-hopped IIPA with a smooth and balanced body. To make a tight transition between the hop profile and the body we have removed all caramel malts and focused only on basis malts. This is resulting in a nice fresh Spring/Summer IIPA that has a Dangerously Close To Stupid drinkability. We have for a long time been wanting to do a pendant to the Final Frontier Double IPA, that has this rich caramel body and we think we nailed it Dangerously Close to Perfect with this one

Bottle bought at Hopduvel. Citrus, mango, exotic fruits, quite alcoholic and sweet malts, not too bitter. Very nice.

Tap in KIK Warsaw. Quite a disappointment for me. It’s obviously well made and so on but doesn’t have this wow effect. Fruity, pleasant in aroma. Fruity, well balanced in taste, with rather tiny bitterness, having on mind it’s an Imperial IPA. Crisp, dry - this one is true. But it’s not a fruity and bitterness bomb which I was expecting. Nice mouthfeel. It is weirdly TO drinkable. Solid, but not mind blowing in any way, and that is what I was expecting from it.

Small bottle. Cool label with a digital photo of roses that fails to load in the middle. Cloudy orange body with a tall rocky head. Rich aroma of crisp hops. Slick body with lots of hops. Tastes a bit anonymous. Decent enough but no surprises - just another Danish hop bomb brewed at the De Proefbrouwerij. Decent enough but in terms of excitement it kind of does "fail to load in the middle".

tfredvik (1670) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 7, 2015
Cloudy orange body with a small, off-white head that leaves some foam on the glass. Very strong aroma of slightly overripe tropical fruits, citrus (mainly orange) and caramel. Strong flavour of very overripe tropical fruits, caramel and some unusual notes of burnt sugar. Moderate sweet and heavy bitter taste. Full-bodied, oily, softly carbonated and with a light dryness in the finish. A solid DIPA.

On tap @ Henrik, Bergen. Pours hazy orange with a finger thick creamy head. Aroma is hoppy with pine, lemon peel and apricot, as well as some malty notes of bread and toffee. Creamy body with soft carbonation. Flavour is very bitter with orange peel and pine, as well as some notes of grain before finishing off with a nice long bitter lemon peel finish.

Bottle at home. The colour is unclear dark orange with a big creamy light beige head. Aroma of pine, grass, grapefruit and hints of alcohol. Rich flavour of pine, grassy hops, caramel sweetness, alcohol and orange candy. Has a soft and slick mouth feel, full-bodied, and heavy bitterness. A bit careful aroma for the beer style. Tasteful and complex during the experience. A little unbalanced though.

Saeglopur (1610) - Vienna Woods, AUSTRIA - JAN 10, 2015
330 ml bottle from Ammersin 5, Vienna.
Amber, cloudy body, with a big, creamy, white head, that leaves a thick lacing.
Aroma is juicy, with citrus, orange, tropical fruits, some grass, honey, candy, some biscuit.
Taste follows this pretty much.
Full, creamy mouthfeel, with a quite lively carbonation.
Finishes bitter, dry, zesty and grassy.

Very good! Thick, juicy and therefore pretty filling - actually a bit too filling for my taste. Nonetheless a really nice, well balanced and quite unique DIPA.
