The next beer in the To Øl hop adventure is now a reality – we present to you Dangerously Close To Stupid. An Imperial IPA at 9,3 % ABV with a close to stupid amount of Citra and Centennial Hops in it. It is a bright crisp and super dry-hopped IIPA with a smooth and balanced body. To make a tight transition between the hop profile and the body we have removed all caramel malts and focused only on basis malts. This is resulting in a nice fresh Spring/Summer IIPA that has a Dangerously Close To Stupid drinkability. We have for a long time been wanting to do a pendant to the Final Frontier Double IPA, that has this rich caramel body and we think we nailed it Dangerously Close to Perfect with this one

Aroma was a big blast of hops and citrus. Had a 4 finger foam head despite a polished pour into an IPA glass but it faded down to a proper size quickly which was appreciated. Very well balanced hop bitterness with the citrus and malts. A great DIPA!

Pours cloudy pale gold with a fat finger of dense ivory head, excellent retention and lacing. (4/5) Nose is pithy citrus, pine, peaches, mango, caramel malt. (8/10) Taste is moderate sweet, strong bitter, mild peppery spice. (8/10) Medium body, moderate carbonation, slightly spicy finish. (4/5) Lots of flavour and a very well-behaved ABV. And yeah, it’s a 100 IBU hop bomb, but it’s not overwhelming, because it’s fairly well-supported by the caramel malt. I like it. (16/20)

Draft @ Mikkeller Bar Stockholm. Pours orange-golden and hazy, with one-finger stady head. Aroma has a lot of tropical fruits and caramel, wih less citrus notes. Very challenging and intense aroma. Taste has a lot of caramel, but tropical fruits are absent. Hoppiness is grassy and twiggy. Palate is quite sweet and surprisingly light, hoppiness is only medium. Great aroma, but taste is not so intense and fruity, which I’d like.

When opening the bottle a shitload of pine and citrus fills the room. Nice medium bodied bready double ipa with enough bitterness to make it noticed. Not astringent but very good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Full of fresh hops, but the malt gives a decent sweetness to balance this. Very tasty.

Bottle at the 7th Tasting in Belgrade-Serbia with Vlada, Matt, Marko (budalo). Pours deep yellow, cloudy with a white foam which leaves draft on the glass. Nose: orange juice, tropical, papaya. Mouth: lively carbonated, tick body, oily, fruity, just lovely execution of the style.

Bottle. Amber in colour, white solid head. Great aroma of flowers, citrus fruits, mango. In taste medium sweet from malts, very hoppy with big bitterness to balance it all. Great DIPA from To Ol.

UPDATED: SEP 25, 2013 33cl bottle - only 5 weeks old. Pours hazy light orange with thin, patchy white froth. Aroma is pure hop goodness: loads of tangerine, mango, blood orange, pineapple and grapefruit. A real tropical cocktail - wonderful. Taste comes on strong with loads of sweet tropical notes: mango and passionfruit especially. Some pineapple and pithy citrus too. Semi-sweet biscuit malt backbone allows the hops to really shine - unadulterated juicy hop character throughout. Finish is medium-sweet initially but becomes pretty crisp very quickly. Lingering bitterness - lots of residual orange and grapefruit, as well as some lingering pine resin. Bloody hell. This is the real deal: a really REALLY good DIPA.
