3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Glouglouburp (5562) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 8, 2013
In short: A yeasty bready backbone and a generous amount of fruity resinous hops. Tasty blond hoppy beer.
How: Bottle 330ml, consumed approximately one year before expiration date.
The look: Cloudy pale amber body with lots of small particles and topped by a medium white head with good retention leaving lots of lacings on the glass.
In long: The powerful nose is rather fruity with peaches, grapefruits, pineapples, bananas, apples, and more. The fruity aroma didn’t feel like it was only hops-fruity, there were other fruity esters too. Also some floral notes in the aroma. Taste is smooth on the malt front, rather yeasty (like many European IPAs), honeyed cereals that felt very wheaty, some banana bread, fresh pineapples, plenty of fruity hops, plenty of hops resin, strong yeast presence. A certain wheat-like acidity, this beer feels a bit like the new trend of hoppy wheat beers (the so-called white ipas), I don’t know if it is indeed wheat-based but it tasted like it to me, somewhat similar to the Harpoon White IPA I had just the day before. Not many people know that First Frontier is an expression used to describe an explicit gay sexual position, you probably didn’t know it because I just made it up, but it made you wonder for a second or two.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 sfuen03 (139) - Barcelona, SPAIN - MAY 5, 2013
Pours pale amber, low carbonated, high presence of sediment. Generous head, creamy, very long-lasting. Vanishes into a good wide film. Aroma remembers of resin, pine, fruits (pinneaple?), herbs. Mouthfeel is oily, alcohol is well masked, finish is gentlely fruity, bitter but not overwhelming. Taste is very fruity, pinneaple, peach, lemon, very smooth and the perfect bitterness.

Bottle 33cl from Henrik thanks, a cloudy orange beer with huge head and good lacing. Nose is intense on fresh fruit such as grapefruit, mango and apricot. 3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 mjakopa (102) - Maribor, SLOVENIA - APR 24, 2013
Pours a cloudy yellow/orange with substantial head that dissipates after a while. Aroma is hoppy and fruity but the body is slightly sweeter than expected. Caramel malts balance the taste and prevent it from being too dry, but the hops linger until the aftertaste in which they become much more predominant. An interesting combination of tastes that balances itself.
