English: The thing about First Frontier is the hops. Easy… This is an IPA “the American way”, no sticky-sweet malt profile, just the real deal potent and aromatic hops. The result is a refreshingly dry, fresh and bitter IPA, heavily dryhopped with the three American hop varieties warrior, simcoe and centennial, dealing a punch of citrus, peach and grapefruit from the deepest of our hearts directly to ya face. Just added a bit of caramel malt; merely to harness and balance the alcohol. ”We all got pieces of crazy in us, some bigger pieces than other”

”We all got pieces of crazy in us, some bigger pieces than other”
Ingredienser: Vand, Malt, Havre, Humle (Warrior, Simcoe, Centennial), gær.

Quite similar to the American IPAs with a strong presence of citrus hops in flavor and aroma.

Bottle at Three Johns. Hazy orange with a white head, looking pretty. Floral citrus hop aroma. Big bitter taste along with some sweet citrus flavour. Lovely dry finish. Good starter beer of the day :)

A bankable American IPA that doesn’t overdo the hops. Good taste, but not distinct enough for me.

Bottle at Koht in Oct 2014, reviewed retrospectively. A very enjoyable IPA with a malty dominance. Hops more pronounced in the aroma than taste, otherwise nicely balanced between the biscuity sweet and resinous-citrusy bitter. Alcohol well covered. Poured hazy orange with a white head that retained nicely. Good for a change among the more hop-mad IPA’s. Will try and have it again for a thorougher re-rate.

Bottle. Hazy orange pour with a generous light yellow head. Nose has the regular suspects, light resin, grapefruit and some passionfruit. Taste is juicy with mango, grapefruit and some pine needles.

Bottle, 330 ml. Pours cloudy amber/orange with half a finger of off-white soapy head, which doesn’t stick around long. Extremely strong notes of pineapple and citrus on the nose, which almost totally dominate save for some hints of caramel malts, grass and earth. Taste is much more of an earthen and grassy nature, with less-dominant cirtus hoppy notes and edges of grapefruit and apple. Tends much more towards bitter than sweet, with caramel notes from the aroma being much diminished in the taste. Body is a tad watery but carbonation is minimal and texture is smooth, so this one is easy on the palate. Decent alcohol warmth to finish. Nice.

330ml brown bottle. Gold-orange, slight cloudiness. White soapy foam, a few odd spots of lacing. Nose has citrus notes - a mix of zesty and sweet peels, sweet malts/caramel. Taste has light biscuit malts, caramel malts, grapefruit, zesty orange peels, light floral/fruity. Long grapefruity finish, late bitter kick. Well done.

Bottle. Hazy golden body with a big white head. Citrus hoppy aroma with grapefruit, tangerine, light grass notes. Taste follows the same fruitiness, with hints of caramel, good balanced bitterness, with a light sweetness carrying it through without becoming harsh, hoppy fruity aftertaste. Simple, refreshing and fruity, sometimes those ipas are the best.
