COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
English: The thing about First Frontier is the hops. Easy… This is an IPA “the American way”, no sticky-sweet malt profile, just the real deal potent and aromatic hops. The result is a refreshingly dry, fresh and bitter IPA, heavily dryhopped with the three American hop varieties warrior, simcoe and centennial, dealing a punch of citrus, peach and grapefruit from the deepest of our hearts directly to ya face. Just added a bit of caramel malt; merely to harness and balance the alcohol. ”We all got pieces of crazy in us, some bigger pieces than other”

”We all got pieces of crazy in us, some bigger pieces than other”

Purely American by way of Denmark, this is west coast IPA all the way. The hops are luscious and juicy in here. Notes of peach, grapefruit and orange rule, backended with some lightly sweet caramel malt. The flavors meld well here, but the malt fades quickly leaving a drastically bitter lingering finish. Would stand up to a nice fatty earthy cheese.

Bottle at home, bought at Bierhalle Deconinck. More of an English IPA in that it’s not so much about the citrus-aroma, malty backbone, nice bitterness. Good stuff.

330mml bottle tasted on the 27/04/2016. Cloudy orange color with a big white head. Aroma of pine, caramel and some hops. Taste has malts and caramel balanced with fruity hop notes and grapefruit bitterness. Aftertaste is nice. Next one please!

@la Grenette, Lausanne - hazy amber-orange beer with a white foam left; perfumy aroma of violet, rose and peach; full-bodied, light sticky, very bitter and with a long aromatic fruity hoppy finish

Rica cerveza danesa estilo IPA, buen cuerpo y espuma bien marcada, olor y sabor lupulado dejando un agradable retrogusto amargo. Color ligeramente turbio y tonos dorados. Una gran cerveza para los amantes de la IPA

Bottle. Hazy orange body with a thick off-white head. Good lacing. Aroma of pithy orange, honey and candle wax. Flavour of lime chutney, grapefruit and bread. Medium to full body with a frothy texture. Light fizz. A solid IPA.

Tap at Fermentoren Aarhus. I read the deScription, and for that reason might score it a little lower than i would otherwise... Pours an orangy amber with a small white head. Aroma has lots of caramel malts, oatmeal, cornflakes, some grassy and some piny hops. Light citrus. Taste is super malty, medium caramel sweetness. The bitterness is present, but claiming; "[...] no sticky-sweet malt profile, just the real deal potent and aromatic hops." is pretty much the exact opposite of what my impression was. And for the record i compared it to two other ipas around the same ABV head to head, and this one was by far the most sweet and malty one. But aside from that contradiction this is an alright beer with an average carbonation and a medium oily mouthfeel. Taste before labeling please ;)

330ml bottle from Beer Cartel, Sydney. A lightly hazy golden Amber with a somewhat lasting and lacing white head. Mango, peach, pineapple, grapefruit, pine, tangerine and resin characters. A gentle malt sweetness props up the mid-palate. Prickly carbonation, a medium body with a slight oily texture and a finish of moderate to full length and intensity of grapefruit, resin and citrus pith.
