To l Frost Bite is an American Pale Ale brewed with orange peel and pine needles. It is so frosty that it needs to be stored cold and may bite if you touch it. This beer is all about the balance (not the bass). Imagine the flavours of pine needles and orange peel. Now imagine the same flavours only represented by Aurora, Citra, Tettnanger, Simcoe and Amarillo hops. This hoppy dry mix of spices and hops makes for the perfect Winter American Style Pale Ale.

Ingredients: Water, barley malt (Pale, Cara Red, Munich, Pilsner), flaked oats malt, pine needles, orange peels, hops (Aurora, Citra, Tettnanger, Simcoe, Amarillo), yeast.

From bottle. Pours light hazy golden. The aroma strikes me with pine. The taste is sweet, resiny, piny and hoppy. The resin challenges the hops. Orange peel is also present.

From bottle. Pours hazy amber with an off white head. Aroma of pine, citrus, a bit resin, earthy. Taste is lots of resin and pine, a bit on the sweet side, I know Im drinking this fresh, but is still seems a bit dusty to me. The orange peel is not noticable, in my opinion. Meh.

Tap @ basement beer bar, Aalborg. Aroma of pine and hops, some orange notes. Hazy amber with off-white head, not lasting. Moderate bitterness, light+ sweetness. Medium body, oily feel, avg. carb., bitter finish.

Clear amber, big offwhite froth. Mild hoppy aroma, could be mango but neither orange nor pine. Flavour has light piney citrus hops and light caramel. Smooth but with a nice bitter kick. Decent but slightly thin?

I like pine aroma and you can feel a lot of it in this beer. Fresh, IPA-ish and aromatic. Nice taste - tarty, hoppy, piney.

Its hard to get piney-like aroma from needles. This one has a bunch of hops and a lot of piney aroma from pine needles. Tarty, hoppy, nice.

Bottled 330ml. -from Pivoljub Ljubljana. Orange/golden coloured, medium sized white head, piney nose. Moderate malty, bready, grapefruity and some caramel with notes of pine and rather dry bitter finish. All in all just good.

Bottle from The Bottle Shop Canterbury. I do like a To Ol apa. And again its pretty straight down the line drinkable. Just a lightness of touch. Doesn?t have to be flashy just super drinkable which this is. Reminds me of clouds and light orange fruits. Decent bitterness on the finish too. Uncomplicated simple easy drinkable. Reminded me a bit of Mikkeller All Others Pale in terms of its effortless drinkability. Great beer.
