3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Cotteridge Wines. Cotteridge, Birmingham, consumed at home Sunday 12th June 2016 whilst cooking Cod and Chorizo Risotto. Golden maybe dark gold in colour with a white head. I hadn’t realised that this was a winter APA, however to be fair the name should of offered a clue. Fruity with a touch of pine, bittersweet some orange maybe, it’s ok but somewhat forgettable. Ok. 3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Unclear apricot amber body.
Off whyte head.
Aroma of fruits, apricot, wood, caramel.
Tastes peach peels, hops, wood, fibres, pale caramel malts. Dry apple peely finish in wood fibres. Dry on palate, fizzy carbo.
Overall; hoppy enough, maybe malt is too modest.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Hazy golden in colour, white head. The beer is packed with pine, resin and some citrus. Light, fresh and crisp, needles really improved the flavour.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Slightly hazy orange color with beige head. Aroma has sweet fruits like tangerines and peaches but also some sugar/syrup. Taste starts balanced with fruity notes, sweet biscuit malt and a good amount of hop bitterness in the background. Body is quite heavy for an APA, soft mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Really tasty beer with a very smooth mouthfeel and a good amount of bitterness.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
33 cl bottle poured in to a Tulip. Hazy amber-golden colour with a creamy, white head. Fruity aroma with citrus fruits, orange peel and pines. Taste is bitter. Medium body with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes dry and bitter with citrus fruits and orange peel. Nice, straightforward APA with a good twist.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, hazy golden in colour, small head. Beer is full of citrus and pine in aroma and flavour, although my bottle was a bit old and some honey like off flavours appeared. Decent pale ale, a fresh one should be very good.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
330ml bottle bought at YATA in MOKO, Mong Kok.
Looks: Translucent amber honey colour with very thin trace of yeast sediments; Half finger head and crumpety off-white foam which fades in 40 seconds; Beautiful sticky lacing with active small carbonation.
Aroma: Very fragrant and sweet Ale malt, with strong floral, pineapple, strong honey, oranges, jam, strong molasses, light pine, light biscuits, yeast and light grass.
Taste: Mid to light sweet Amber malt, with caramel, light pine, light resins, light floral, molasses notes, light earth, dry biscuits, strong yeast, lemon, fairly strong bitter hops and sharp grass.
Body: Medium body. Very creamy palate.
Mouth Feel: Solid Ale maltyness in a very smooth and creamy background. Amber-ish as well as Bockish with lots of dryness. Hop-wise there’s not much fruity elements but good floral bitterness abound. Pine is only a touch, but resin ooze fairly evident. Subdued sweetness, earthy biscuity with fair lemon to round. Easy!
Hoppiness: Strong floral, pineapple, marmalade, and light pine in nose. Earth, light pine, light resins, light floral, lemon and grass in taste. Bitterness is close to strong for a lasting, nice astringent malty finish.
After Taste: Quite Dry. Creamy, and nicely bitter to mouth.
Comments: Got to say this one’s pine needle and orange peel aren’t that obvious. It’s all abot the smooth rich body, nice but low-key fruity aroma, and Bock-ish malty full taste. Drinkable and very easy to go down, but I think taste-wise it can do more.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Cotteridge, Brum. Hazy gold. Thin, ginger coloured head. Nose has lovely, chewy malts, and juicy fruit hops. Piney, as you’d expect. Taste is light, and airy bitter. Palate had a resinous oiliness about it. Very easy drinking. Fruity, bitter finish. Good stuff.
