On tap @ Beachwood Brewing. Light brownish pour with an off-white head. Sweet caramel, sugar, and toffee on the nose. Notes of citrus and burnt sugar. Pretty simplistic. The flavor is just really sweet and not much else. Hints of fruit, but mostly just caramel, burnt sugar, and toffee. Maybe a touch of spice as it warms.

Botella de 330ml. Copa Tulipa. Tulip glass. Enjoyed on jul´13. Dark amber color. Opaque appearance. Yellowish white froth, fairly good retention crown. Some spots are left on sides. Sweet – but not cloying- aroma profile shows: molasses, Belgian yeast & figs, subtle hues of fudge chocolate, sugar cane, brown sugar & toasted caramel malts. Creamy sweet malt at first sip followed by spicy & spiced touch mixed with piney bitterness. Full body. Moderate carbonation. Creamy mouthfeel rounded by subtle citric astringency & bitter orange marmalade notes in the middle. Increasing warming alcohol lingers into a bitter/sweet finish where caramel malts win the match versus hops. Ripe fruit on the aftertaste. Nice spot of the Quad/ABT Style.

Good taste. Not too strong. Weak odor. The aftertaste is good, maybe a little heavy. But a good beer it anyway. Worth a try. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

Pours dark brown/copper. Huge head. Smells great, probably the best Belgian style quad that I’ve had.

Scopey (6812) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 23, 2013
Bottle from Thistle News, Aberdeen. It pours hazy, deep mahogany brown with a medium beige head. The nose is toast, tangy red berry, blood orange, raisin, plum, caramel, wood, spice and candy. The taste is bitter-sweet, caramel, wood, brown sugar, alcohol warmth, damp leaf, earth, spice, over-ripe fruit, raisin and dull sourness with a dry, warming finish. Full body, fine carbonation and sticky mouth-feel. Perhaps not the best balance. A decent quad, but a touch cloying after a while.
