(Draught at Mikkeller & Friends, Copenhagen, 12 July 2013) Reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with dried fruit, burnt sugar, caramel and hints of barrel aged rum. Malty, fruity taste with notes of burnt sugar, dried fruit, caramel, treacle toffee and a touch of alcohol shining through in a finish with a certain spicy bitterness. Full body, with soft mouthfeel. Quite sweet. Nice one.

McNeillR (1576) - SCOTLAND - AUG 6, 2013
Rich golden copper, beige sandy coffee froth head. Sumptuous brandy hop, nosebleeding amount of sweetness and a BA-esque muscat peak - like the red fruit gums. Soft, neatly cloying with a rain-on-roof satisfying carbonation underneath which faded fairly quickly.
The sweetness is more than the depth of flavour elsewhere can carry, although does a fairly good job of hiding the ABV. Lacking in oatyness is a downside for me, but this also means it falls away from clovey/banana mank finish - something that lets a jetpack boost of wayward hops come through.

Tide (2037) - Espoo, FINLAND - AUG 4, 2013
Bottle from Brewdog shop. Brown color, beige head. Sweet taste with ripe fruits, earthy notes, wood, caramel, alcohol and nuts. Surprisingly mellow body given the ABV, the alcohol pretty nicely hidden behind the sweetness. Bittersweet finish with citrus and toffee. Nice, enjoyable quadrupel.

Bought this beer because of the label. Nice aroma of dried fruits with a head that disapates quickly. Oily palate with lots of fruit and a hoppy background. The beer didn’t disappoint me as it was a visual purchase.
