3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours black with a foamy browny head that promptly dissipates. Aroma is brown sugar, espresso and light dates. Taste sweet, coffee, slight liquorice with a medium sugary coffee finish. Quite sweet like an Oatmeal stout, as the ingredients list would have you believe.A touch of alcohol warmth makes this damn tasty. Good body, not too watery not too thick.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours black with a small, tan head. Aroma has burned sugar, chocolate, roasted coffee and salmiak licorice. Taste is fairly sweet and sugary up fronts, but turns over to a dark, roasted bitterness with coffee and licorice. Full body and medium low carbonation. Slight oatmeal. Delicious!

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from Rehills, Newcastle. This inky black beer has ruby red highlights and pours with a thin tan head. It has rich dark chocolate, liquorice and oak flavours, chilli notes (without the heat), tart red fruit and Arabica coffee on the finish. Excellent!

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours pitch black with a small head. Aroma: licquor, sugar, raisins, coffee. Taste: very thick (which I love about imperial stouts), sweet, heavy, you can feel the alcohol warming your throat, followed by a coffee aftertaste. It is a bit too sweet to my taste but I still think this is one of the best imperial stouts I had so far.

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Perfetta imperial stout!

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours an oily jet black with a high, creamy, tan head -- the head almost gushed over the top of a Duvel tulip. Lots of sticky lace is left behind as it recedes, unwillingly. Nose is coffee, roasted walnuts, brown sugar, browned pastry, and baking chocolate. Not as sweet as I expected on the tongue; there’s chocolate and coffee, yes, but also a strong, earthy element, running into the mushroom, pine, and savory spectrum. Mouthfeel is creamy and rich, and the finish is long, smoky, and bitter. Very well done.
