COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The great warrior of Gath. The mighty champion of the Philistines. Embedded in ancient folklore and religion. Coming from the World of Old. His size and stature is not human. He is bigger. The armor of Goliat is black. Creamy black lacings. Stands with a towering height. He can grab elements from both earth and heaven. Earthy, roasted, notes from the earth. Warming, pungent, sweet notes from the skies. His heart is beating slowly, almost endlessly slow. This man is thought to be invincible!

Ingredients: Water, barley malt, roasted barley, dark cassonade sugar, flaked oats, hops, gourmet coffee and yeast.

Bottled. Pitch black colour with a mediumsized brown foamy head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, some liquorice, mild alcohol and vanilla as well. Flavour is liquorice, roasted malts, some raisins, plum and alcohol along with chocolate and mild tobacco as well. Quite easy to drink, but yet rather complex.

On tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration. Jet black body, small light caramel head. Aroma is intense coffee and roasty tones, hints of cocoa, dark chocolate and vanilla. Taste is strong roasty filter coffee tones, burnt toast, oats and hints of leather and licorice. Nice. Smooth, velvety mouthfeel. I’m not particularly fond of coffee-infused imperials, but this is a nice specimen of the race.

375mL bottle. Poured very deep brown with a tight-bubbled, well-retained medium brown head. The aroma picked up a hefty dose of earthy, moderately-roasted, very enjoyable coffee.. green coffee sourness on the back of the nose.. it was really hard to find other stuff in there, but I’m cool with that. The flavor opened with tart, green coffee bean notes, with roasty coffee and chocolate following.. a little acrid on the roast front at times.. lots of coffee roast and bitterness plus alcohol warmth on the finish. Heavier-bodied with low carbonation on the palate.. syrupy and warm across the middle.. quite bitter.. one-dimensional, but the execution was there for the most part.. solid brew.
