Tap @ CBC. Black pour with a nice light brown head. Aroma is full of coffee, like fresh grounded beans, fruity like coffee berries, lots of citrusy hops. Some nice maltiness with chocolate, figs, tar. A hint of earthines and a nice sweet vanilla component. Taste is thick and sweet at first with s lot of chocolate, caramel and dark berries. Then a good shot of fruity coffee af loads os bitterness, both from the coffee and from the buckets of hops that went in here. Nice vanilla note in the back, ending in earthy coffee and bitter grapefruit. This us exactly as good as I was hoping it would be. Nice job Tobias and Tore!

Draught @ Mikkeller Bar, Viktoriagade 8BC, kld., DK-1655 Copenhagen, Denmark.
Clear dark black brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, strong coffee, roasted, dusty coffee, and some coffee. Flavour is heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long to average duration, syrupy sweet. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. To sweet and boozy for me ! [20120320]

Draft at Churchkey. Pours black with a moderately sized light brown head. Nose holds marked marzipan and almond notes but in a decidedly good way, with the sweetness mixing with the espresso bite and dark chocolate presence. Flavor is much of the same; a great blend of sweet caramel and nuttiness with the bitter coffee and roast. A bit thin, but quite nice.
3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 BBB63 (5411) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - MAY 3, 2012
12.7 oz bottle and served in Bells tulip: Basically pitch black with an initial huge frothy tan head and left outstanding lace on the glass, only a 4 due to the over carbonated head. The aroma, oh yeah there be coffee beans here! Also got a lot of the other nice things too like roast, chocolate, char, leather, tobacco, dark breads and moderate grassy and piney hops. The taste is coffee driven but you get a lot of cocoa nibs, vanilla bean, sweet syrupy malts and leathery yeast as well. Methinks the taste is actually well balanced all things considered. Slight ashy and even-handed hop bitterness upon the finish along with a dash of fruity and liquorice notes. As is the case with most coffee imbued stouts, the mouth feel is a tad weak and shows the alcohol a bit too firmly. Quite biting and aggressive. Overall the whole of the parts makes me like this quite a bit, sure there are some areas for improvement but this is a darn solid drinker.

Bottle. Pours a pitch black color with a tan head. Aroma is filled with coffee, mocha notes, dark and light chocolate, subtle dark fruits, roasted malt and some sugary notes. The flavor follows the nose and is again filled with coffee and mocha, I also get brown sugar, roasted malt, subtle dark fruits, the light and dark chocolate, and almost hoppy juicyness and slight soy sauce. The body is full with a creamy and oily mouth feel. Overall a great Imperial Stout!
