COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The great warrior of Gath. The mighty champion of the Philistines. Embedded in ancient folklore and religion. Coming from the World of Old. His size and stature is not human. He is bigger. The armor of Goliat is black. Creamy black lacings. Stands with a towering height. He can grab elements from both earth and heaven. Earthy, roasted, notes from the earth. Warming, pungent, sweet notes from the skies. His heart is beating slowly, almost endlessly slow. This man is thought to be invincible!

Ingredients: Water, barley malt, roasted barley, dark cassonade sugar, flaked oats, hops, gourmet coffee and yeast.

Boutip (4656) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 15, 2013
Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a rather large dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of medium sweet chocolates notes with light roasted malt notes. Taste is also dominated some black chocolates notes with light roasted malt, light coffee notes with light residual sugars. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no clear apparent alcohol. Enjoyable but a bit short in terms of complexity.

Bottle, generously shared by BenH. The pour’s deep brown with a rich, oily dark tan head. Attractive appearance. The nose is bright roasted espresso bean. Plenty of charred wood. Menacing coffee aromas. The taste is espresso heavy too. Rich bitter dark chocolate accents. Slightly sweet finish. Full body, fat and oily. Overall, a decent impy stout. It doesn’t have a depth of flavor that the best in this style seem to possess. But it’s still quite enjoyable.

(Bottle, 0.375 l, at Oluttupa Viisi Penniä, 20120321) The beer poure oily and black. Its head was medium sized and light brown. Aroma had roasted malts, hops, liquorice and coffee. Palate was full bodied, warming and oily with medium carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, hops, liquorice, mildly sweetness and quite strong bitterness. Aftertaste was roasty, mildly sweet and quite strongly bitter. Very good and balanced imperial stout. Alcohol could have been better hidden, though.

375 ml bottle @ Cardinal. Pitch black body with a small, brown head. Strong aroma of dark medium roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate. Flavor is sweet, roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and quite bitter. Fine body and long lasting aftertaste. A nice one for sure, more balanced and expected for an imperial stout of this caliber.
