The great warrior of Gath. The mighty champion of the Philistines. Embedded in ancient folklore and religion. Coming from the World of Old. His size and stature is not human. He is bigger. The armor of Goliat is black. Creamy black lacings. Stands with a towering height. He can grab elements from both earth and heaven. Earthy, roasted, notes from the earth. Warming, pungent, sweet notes from the skies. His heart is beating slowly, almost endlessly slow. This man is thought to be invincible!

Ingredients: Water, barley malt, roasted barley, dark cassonade sugar, flaked oats, hops, gourmet coffee and yeast.

You see,Oregon thinks its good at imperial stouts. But this,THIS, is what its all about.heady, drinkable but so deep and long lasting. The rich but smooth chocolate and malt flavors are the star. This is one great imperial stout.

375 ml botle at home, bought about a year ago.
Black body, with a beautiful, big, dense, coffee colored head, that isnt very stable though.
Delicious aroma of coffee, wood, chocolate, vanilla, toffee, some ash, alcohol.
Tastes of coffee, wood, ash, dark chocolate, dark fruits, liquorice, some toffee, booze.
Full, creamy mouthfeel, with a soft carbonation.
Finishes alcohol warming, roasty-bitter, quite dry, but still smooth, with coffee, liquorice, smoky wood.

Delicious! Bone dry coffee notes combined with massive, roasty and sweet malts. The nose is almost perfect, while the taste is also great, but not entirely on par with the nose in my opinion. Overall a very enjoyable Coffee Stout, how I love it.

What goes better with brunch than a coffee infused imperial stout? Continuing its trend of only providing the best Holy Grale offered this monster at the Gralehaus during a busy Sunday morning. Id love to try a sip or two of the regular version to see how much the coffee infusion modified what should be a great base.

Aroma / Appearance - A rich black pour flows like the last cup of coffee in the pot. Sticky legs swirl around the glass offering a mixture of black coffee, malt, and dry roasted licorice. Chocolate rounds out a balanced texture.

Flavor / Palate - Black coffee with a drop of skim milk for texture opens with a creamy bang. Creamer carries to a sticky finish full of licorice, malt, and more. For such a high gravity beer it drinks with a mellow nature. If not for the cost I would pick up a few more beers from To l to try while I continue to clear out the cellar.
