Bottle shared at Bruce’s pad, big thanks to Josh, 16/01/14. Mid black with a good sized dirty tan head that dissipates to the edge. Nose is liqourice, booze, big roast coffee, light spice, dark toffee. Taste comprises decadent chocolate notes, light roast, sweet tones, muscavado sugars, light coconut, earthy coffee, touch of boozedom. Full bodied, fine carbonation, booze laced closure. Nice impy with good, but not OTT, coffee leanings.

Aromas of coffee and chocolate. Minimal head, and a soft carbonation, with a thick creamy texture, full body, long lasting finish. Very tasteful, medium sweetness and bitterness - well balanced. A very great and smooth barrel aged imperial stout.

Piwo czarne. Piana beżowa średniopęcherzykowa. Trwała. Lepi szkło. W konkretnym aromacie śliwka, czekolada, paloność. Wyraźne leżakowanie w beczkach po whiskey, alkohol. W smaku podobnie czuć śliwkę, czekoladę, paloność, trochę kawy. Wyraźne leżakowanie. Piwo pełne, ale nie oleiste. W posmaku wyraźne rozgrzewanie od alkoholu. Wysycenie niskie.

Lovely aroma of coffee, licorice, chocolate and oak barrels. Divine flavor of the same. Heavy bitterness that fills the mouth forever. Perfection in a bottle. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

Draught at Mikkeller Bangkok. Black colour with a lovely brown head. The aroma is dense with dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malt and bourbon. The flavour is sweet with bitter chocolate, plenty of bourbon, and a dry and bitter finish. Very nice.

Black foiled 37.5cl green glass bottle pours with a deep dark body that supports a dark brown head of foam. The aroma offers up molasses and toffee sweetened dark roasted to burnt malts as well as black licorice, vanilla, bourbon, chocolate and then some booziness at the end of the draw. The taste is rich and deep with molasses sweetened dark roasted malts and burnt malts heading into chocolate and a nectar sweet coffee sort of malt sensation. To midway it gets mildly boozy just as the chocolate note becomes more dark chocolate like with the associated velvety smooth mouth feel. Very nice as the bourbon barrel treatment plays only a supporting role in the experience . Solid.

black beer with a long lasting dark beige foam; aroma of Bourbon, wood, ashes and roasted mocha; full-bodied; pretty sweet; quite thick and light oily; fairly bitter; residual sugars cool

375 mL bottle poured into a snifter. Black. Medium khaki head. Boozy aroma. Heavy roasted malt and molasses. A little coffee. Taste is equally boozy. Heavy roasted malt. Sweet molasses. Sharp acidic coffee. Barrel barely yields any bourbon. Some oak. Bitter and burnt acrid finish. Extremely boozy and heavy. The harshness of this beer doesn’t quite outweigh its merits.

Bottle. Almost black in colour, beige head. In aroma roastiness, dark malts, chocolate, some vanilla and bourbon, not impressive. In flavour more vanilla, coffee, roastinesss and a bit of alcohol. Full bodied, high carbonation, a bit watery on the palate, it’s still quite oily, but for for imperial stout it’s not that oily. Medium bitter and roasty finish. Decent, but I prefer normal coffee goliath.

Sour, cherry smell. Deep black with milky coffee head. Smooth palate. Sweet burnt cognac & bourbon, coffee, bitter chocolate taste with long bitter finish. A big, complex beer. Rated by BrewTom
