375mL bottled 9/11/2013 and shared by Chris on 5/22/16.
Chris was more worried about the age on this, but I think even 2.5 years, while maybe not ideal, is not such a big deal for such a huge beer. Granted, as he notes, you will lose the coffee, but that’s ok. Or that’s my opinion, anyways.
Still pours a respectable tan head atop an Imperial Stout-colored body showing good clarity on the edges. Retention is moderate to moderately strong.
Bittersweet cocoa in the nose combines with caramel, buttercream, nicely mellowed out bourbon and rich chocolate and prune on the finish. No sharp alcohol.
Very soft, nearly sticky in the mouth with prunes, vanilla, big, fruity bourbon notes and plentiful cocoa, getting a touch ashy towards the end, with lots of roast, light soy and rich caramel-toffee. A lot going on, as expected, but the bourbon is done pretty well here, though it still has that "De Proef" house character that I can’t stand (earthy, dirty, dusty notes (mostly dirt). Which is odd since apparently De Proef is a very clean facility).
Did not help that we had this directly following the stunning Night and Day from Trillium.

375 ml bottle, I think I purchased at Julio’s well over a year ago. This vintage is 9-11-2013. So at this point the coffee is faded. But it still shows a nice amount of roasted malt, barley, chocolate.

The bourbon and the coffee has faded for sure. I really did mean to get to this sooner. Not the Brewers fault with this. The body and carbonation level are mostly faded. Still it held the test of time much, much better then expected.

0.375 l botlle from ’drankgigant.nl’, best before December 2019. Pitch black with a medium large, creamy, almost stable, light brown head. Sweetish, slightly roasty, a little fruity aroma of dark chocolate, some milk coffee, raisins, vanilla and hints of oak. Sweet, slightly roasty, a little fruity and moderately boozy taste of dark chocolate, milk coffee, hazelnut, mocca, vanilla, hints of raisins and a touch of oak, followed by a medium long, slightly roasty-bitter, medium warming-alcoholic finish. Medium to full body, very creamy and viscid mouthfeel, very soft carbonation. Lovely stuff! Had the base beer a few weeks ago, hard to assess if the BA version is better or not, it’s at least not worse. The barrel is not too prominent, the alcohol is still in balance, and the bourbon notes add some complexity.

Much as the same as the ordinary Goliat, coffee, molassess, licorice, tar and alcohol, enveloped in a rather subdued but a bit boozy bourbon barrel note.

Draft at Ei8ht Ball, served in a flight. Pours an opaque deep brown color with a small beige ring for a head that laces the glass. Pretty sweet, with notes of vanilla, caramel, cocoa, oak, brown sugar, fudge - the underlying roasted and dark malts provide minimal backbone for the barrel and sweetness to take over. Light-medium bodied, with low carbonation and a smooth, sweet mouthfeel. Good, but slightly thin and flat, so the body doesn’t enhance the experience like it could.
